Yes I could charge it directly from the AC input (and is adjustable), but when you do that it shuts off the 240v - which would kill the house power (our Anker units are tied into the home's 240v with their fancy home power panel).
Thanks for the explanation - Makes sense now. Make the F3800 "think" it's being charged by solar so the output remains constant.

Since Rivian doesn't seem to be in any hurry to support vehicle to load I'm interested in using the EG4 Chargeverter GC with the Rivian's 1500w inverter for emergencies. It should enable me to charge some Anker F3800 batteries via the dc solar inputs. This in theory should work, right?
There is a video of this exact configuration and something I am looking at. The other option I'm considering is to just get a 48v 1500w ac to dc converter which is much cheaper and should allow for the 1200w load without stressing the truck or the dc converter. Ill let you know what comes of it when and if I get to it.
If you get there first would be interested in your results.

I have had this same issue trying to charge my EcoFlow Delta Pros over in THIS thread. Actually rather than shutting off the 240V output, it just ignores the 120V input.

So I've been looking at AC to DC power supplies; the Ecoflows can take up to 1600W at their DC input ports. Very interested to hear from rosspa2 or anyone else that has tried a power supply like this!

This the video, the ac to dc converter is a EG4 Chargeverter. It's quite large for the job and expensive, I'm looking for something similar, maybe 1500w 48v so as not to stress the truck or the inverter.

See the post I just made I would guess this works for you as well. Given it will take more than the truck you may need the ability to limit the wattage.
