Brought my R1S in exactly a week ago and the lot was overflowing with other vehicles waiting to be serviced. I thought for sure it would be a few weeks like last time. Nope...got a call early this morning and lo and behold it was ready. Couldn't believe it. When I got there the lot was pretty empty. They are learning and getting better....at least Costa Mesa is.

Eastvale is open, I’m sure that’s helping CM

I dropped my R1S in Costa Mesa on the 18, looks like some just started working on it tonight. Was told to expect an update on Friday.

It looks like the service follows the same rules as their sales…some people get lucky with the lottery.

Well maybe hope for you.. not for me. My appointment was reschedule from November to December and I was explicitly told it was to avoid the queue / car sitting for several weeks. Now it’s been dropped off for 2 weeks and just got an update text that it’s still in queue and they don’t know when the work will start on it. Trucks been in 3x times since delivery this spring and each time about 4-6 weeks before I’ve gotten it back. So about 1/3 of my ownership has been the truck sitting in the Costa Mesa SC.

In the meantime I have a EQE enterprise loaner and am very much enjoying the experience. Never been a huge Benz fan but as ugly as their new EVs are they drive great and interior quality is representative of the price. I’ve actually sold a few people in our community on it talking about the pros/cons, they’ve noticed my Rivian being gone frequently and to be honest, it’s not a good look.

Sorry to hear that, what's it in for?

There were issues with the level of service for sure and my adviser fully admitted it. They are trying and well, baby steps.

Things are improving at the Minneapolis SC. The manager told me they went from 2 months of waiting, to a month, to 2 weeks for an apt.

They've hired more staff, and things have improved from a corp part as well.

He came from a local Lexas dealer and has poached some of the techs.

Have the eliminated the drop it off and it sits for more than a day type of stuff?

It's getting better.

So my R1S is there because of a goof they made, so they worked on it before the parts even arrived and it will be done today.

They still need more space though. It's interesting to see what happens with Wisconsin's service center...if that ever gets off the ground.

Glad they jumped on stuff for yours right away. Improvement is name of game right now!

Can't wait for a Wisconsin center! I think it is for sure happening somewhere....eventually...but not sure status of a new site and permitting, etc....can't find any info anywhere...other than site #1 in Menomonee Falls was shot down on very weak reasoning by the Village board.

It's really too bad. I still think some of the general public don't understand Rivian, or what it is, etc.

Sounds like you had a very similar experience to my last servicing at the Costa Mesa SC...with the multi-week delay in actual service, and then the subsequent endless weeks of "we're working to diagnose and resolve the issues...". I dropped my R1S off at the service center back in October, but what I didn't know at the time was that it was going to be there almost 7 weeks!!! This experience was capped off with me picking my truck up with less range than when I dropped it off with, as well as it being unwashed and filthy (including the leftover sunbaked adhesive from the blue tape they used to mark focus areas). To add insult to injury, whoever was working on my truck left my Ocean Coast interior filthy with dirt and grime from their constant egress/ingress.

That SC visit was by far the worst experience I have had with Rivian's service, but thankfully the new Eastvale SC is open and is my 'home' SC now. I hope to have much better experiences with the Eastvale SC when another visit is required.

As it relates to your rental, it sounds like you have "My" black EQE 350 loaner ? , which I was lucky enough to get from Enterprise while my R1S was in the shop. I should also note that the only reason I didn't go absolute bat $#!t crazy while waiting for my R1S, was because I had the EQE...and yes...it was pretty nice with its tech, comfort items, and luxury features, but just too small for me, especially coming from my R1S. So glad to finally be back in my Rivian!

I had mine towed to the SC in SLC two weeks ago and it wasn't even looked at until Tuesday despite having a motor failure. Not sure if it's really getting better.
