Really, its my fault. I shouldn't have accepted it at delivery. My elation at seeing one and driving one for the first time and not doing my due diligence in inspecting it more thoroughly is the real issue. Live and learn and I hope they can take care of everything. You think so, huh? ?. Doubtful.

That is certainly not the look I would want. But if they all look like that, it makes you wonder if they will say that's just what silver looks like. Do we have examples of production R1T in silver that don't look like that? You think so, huh? ?. Doubtful.

Hard to tell from the side as I didnt take pics of hoodThat is certainly not the look I would want. But if they all look like that, it makes you wonder if they will say that's just what silver looks like. Do we have examples of production R1T in silver that don't look like that?
You will NOT be disappointed in that regard. I forget not just the truck's cosmetic issues, but anything going on in my life when I drive it. LOL. Hope it comes back soon.I get the elation! When mine comes (hopefully in the next 30 days) I will have a very hard time restraining my excitement and will try my best to go over the truck with an objective eye. I really cannot wait to drive one.
Unfortunately things like that aren't always obvious at delivery due to lighting conditions. I purchased a new BMW back in late 2003 and it took me 3 days (and a photo session in bright sunlight) before I noticed the following paint problem. It just wasn't obvious up close or in dimmer lighting conditions. The car had obviously had some repairs at port or perhaps at the previous dealership prior to my dealership securing it for me and whoever did the repairs didn't do a proper blend across panels. My dealership took care of it 100% and, if it weren't for the proof in this picture, you'd never have known anything had ever happened.Really, its my fault. I shouldn't have accepted it at delivery. My elation at seeing one and driving one for the first time and not doing my due diligence in inspecting it more thoroughly is the real issue. Would love to know who's doing the body work. Guess this will be a good training opportunity for the Rivian repair network.Hope it comes back soon.
Was the streaking clearly there at delivery? In the "there are no stupid questions vein" (I hope), is there any chance this streaking showed up or got worse after you drove the vehicle, perhaps due to exposure to cold or sunshine or some operating condition, etc. You can get "bloom" in plastics, over time additives migrate to the surface of plastic parts, and cause discoloration. Usually related to the properties of the additives used, and/or processing conditions. Not familiar with this happening with paint, but pretty sure there is a polymeric component in paint.Really, its my fault. I shouldn't have accepted it at delivery.
From the address that it is being towed to, it looks like a certified Aston Martin repair shop. The driver said "Rivian won't stop calling me about the status, when I'll arrive, etc" so I hope that's a good sign that they want to make everything right ASAP for me.
It was not clear to me at delivery due to the way the truck was facing. We came back from a quick test drive and facing the opposite direction and I saw a little something....there are other issues beyond this though mentioned earlier, but the paint is the primary issue. Was the streaking clearly there at delivery? Is it going to the place on Peeler in Dallas (next to Rivian's temp location) or somewhere else? From the address that it is being towed to, it looks like a certified Aston Martin repair shop.
Awesome, I believe your truck should be in good hands! I've always been very happy with their work and customer service. When Rivian first announced their collision repair network almost 18 months ago, I reached out to this shop suggesting that they apply. Sounds like they made the cut.Yes, Peeler street is where its headed.
