This is a situation where you could tweet to RJ and then publish that tweet to the various Rivian and EV forums and sites … a few of us retweet and you'll get a new truck, forget about getting the paint corrected, that's their QA problem, not the customer's problem (and maybe some compensation for weeks off the road.)

I copied RJ on some emails to my guide and I was given an additional 7 days to review the vehicle when it gets back. If the work is quality I’m ok with it.

That's good on two counts: one that you're able to cc the CEO (his address is published) and two, that he got involved and offered a reasonable concession. Personally, I'd still want a fresh built truck, not with this level of paint rework, but you're certainly helping them iron out (almost literally) the wrinkles.

Update....they are going to do a full respray after Rivian's quality team inspected the vehicle. Fml. They did offer to send me an R1T down from Dallas as a loaner though....but wow.

At least they're doing the right thing, just a shame it has taken so long to get to this decision. And then you still have to wait even longer for the respray.

Well, apparently this decision was made a while back, because they have the same complete by date of 4/27. Rivian is definitely "Keeping the Early Ownership Experience Adventurous Forever"

At least you got offered a loaner. Some folks are down with bad motors and got a rental car only with some pushback.

Take the loaner! And then when your car is done, make sure you are 100% satisfied. If not, keep the loaner and make them take back the tiger stripe R1T and have them give you a new R1T.

So a full custom paint job from a reputable shop, and, you get the full warranty. Sounds alright. No orange peel is good too...

Glad it appears to be working out for you - always fun to put miles on someone else's car. Now you can perfect your launch technique and nail the 1/4 mile times.
