If you where ever in the Navy station on a ship it's the same thing as being sent off to get the keys for the seachest (this usually involves waking a officer up in the middle of the night)

I was just told by Rivian to rotate my 22" sport darks at 7500. I'm at 7497 so they scheduled a mobile tech for next week. Dallas.

So a mobile tech can do it instead of going to the SC?

I guess so! They just asked me if I had "a flat surface to work on". I think rotations are no problem, they just can't do alignment.

No - it is not covered under warranty. I was quoted $80 for mobile service to do it for me in November, but then I just bought snow tires and had them mounted instead.

I am not aware of any manufacturer that covers regular tire rotations under warranty.

Even brands that cover "scheduled maintenance" for the first few years tend to exclude tire rotations.

I dunno if Rivian recommends anything in particular but I plan a five tire rearward cross (see https://tiregrades.com/tire-maintenance/rotation/rotation-patterns/5-tire-rotation-patterns/).

5 tire rotation is a good idea for if you have a spare for a few reasons:

1. Avoids super uneven tread if you do have to use a spare in practice (e.g. due to a flat)
2. Extends the practical time between tire purchases by 20% (also makes it 20% more expensive…)
3. You can do it at home one wheel at a time with a jack if you want, whereas a 4-tire rotation needs a lift.

I am planning on a 5 tire rotation this weekend and just realized I never checked to see if these tires are directional. I assume the 20inch Pirelli ATs are not?

Thanks, that's what I thought but it's not specified one way or the other on the Pirelli site.

In that case it makes it really easy to do your own 5 tire rotation.
