It is the same with mine there is a leak current to the lights. I think that is what is used to sense if a trailer is present. The light circuit is not turned on because I think it sense resistance and Led lights have a low resistance. I simply added my test lamp between the Led light and the truck. That increased the resistance and the circuit turned on. Led lights have an or should have a inline resistor but not all lights a re equal. I think turning off or not turning on a circuit for lights is not safe. When a trailer is sensed all the lights should be turned on. If there is a short (low resistance) it should simply blow the fuse. It is a Rivian build problem and a safety issue. I plan on adding resistance to the lights inside the 7 to 4 pin converter to resolve the issue and still be able to use the trailer on other vehicles
submit a service ticket. Like others have noted, they don't have this problem. Let Rivian fix it.

It is a Rivian build problem. I plan using the trailer frequently and plan on adding resistance inside the adapter for the lights that does not work. It is cheaper than to modify the trailer and replace the lights.
Mate, I don’t know what to tell you. Everyone here is suggesting that it’s not a “universal Rivian build problem” and likely just an issue with your truck that you could open a service ticket for and have resolved. You’re getting (rightfully) thrashed for knocking Rivian for failing to considering LED trailer lights while seemingly praising Tesla when you’ve done nothing to actually try to resolve the problem you’re having other than gripe in a forum about it.

LED lights work just fine with Rivians, your specific vehicle just seems to have a fault. Go get it fixed.

I have a similar issue. I have struggled with getting 4 pin lights working with my truck. On two different trailers that are a bit aged but had have LED lights added and replaced. I have tried two different 7 blade to 4 flat/pin adapters with similar results. Only way to consistently get my boat trailer lights to work involved putting two zipties under the adapter when I push it in. It add enough upward pressure to keep the lights always working. Nothing seems bent or out of of place. I think I need to buy another adapter and or testers to see what's going on. But I asked my service center if they have a way to test the trailer lights and they said not really.

I’ve been having this same issue. My trailer lights worked fine with F150 but not Rivian. The tail lights are super dim but that’s it. No other lights work.
I ordered this today. Hoping it works.
I’m on the service list for Rivian also but hope this works and I’ll cancel the service.
I have a 2022 R1T for reference.
