I never thought of it as an ad. If the stations would post the song title and musician that would be great. Unfortunately most stations no longer do that. One or two left but for some reason the audio system seems to grab whatever was playing when I switch on and leave it there.

VW has a system that will match the song and grab the song info and prioritize it over the radio station RDS broadcast and are now going to have to battle it in court because the local radio station warlord is pissed...

I notice that the reception is spotty in my area but works most of the time. The radio reception is not that great for an expensive vehicle but I guess traditional antennas aren’t very “adventurous” looking and a retractable antenna would have added to the cost.

At this point I'd just be happy if they replaced the "Morse code graphic" with literally anything else. Or just get rid of it. Used to display station logo, a thousand years ago...
