2023 R1S
1. Since day 1 our R1S has had tire vibration issues (22") tire package. All 4 wheel were balanced by the mobile team, this only slightly improved things. Then at around 3K miles it went into the shop where they re-balanced all for again and then told us they were replacing the front tires due to defect. We got it back and it was much improved BUT now at around 6,500 miles the vibration is back again. We always drive it in Normal mode or sport never is Saver mode since Rivian claims that causes uneven tire ware

-So either the R1S is going to eat front tires, due to other alignment or front end design issues
-We have defective tires again
-the Rears are now causing the vibration (though unlikely since we feel and see it through the streering wheel)
-The only option is back to the shop for diag which is super annoying!

2. wind noise, seems the R1s is quite noisy this could be due to exterior design, insufficient sound deadening or faulty or leaking seals? It seems our 2020 AMG GT is quieter than this SUV

3. Small stuff like when we hit the gas pedal from park mode, the windshield wipers feel the need to kick on and do a swipe
4. No fix here, but getting hotter in AZ now and I really don't like this all glass roof, we have to leave the Pet Mode on anytime it's parked outside. To me not having the ability to close the roof is a huge miss for Rivian

Not an issue but for the "next version" of the R1S I think "Frunk Cooling" should be an option, would be nice to cool or pre-cool the frunk for groceries etc.

We have the 21" all purpose tires and have had zero issues. We drive in ALL PURPOSE mode 99.999% of the time. We are at 19,000 on the tires and still have probably another 8 to to 10,000 left.

Have you thought about switching to the smaller wheels and tires?

Yes, that is an issue. We had a mobile tech come out to the house and replace the "triangle" window and put some damping foam in there......100% better.

This happens to me (and what I heard a lot of others as well). The tech told me that sometimes it will do that to wipe off any debris that is on the windshield (e.g. dust, bird poop, bugs). It doesn't bother me as much as it use to.

Totally agree. It would have been nice to have a retractable cover that you can close. I have seen people post links for aftermarket covers.I think it is some sort of velcro that you install on the inside.

We are going to be moving to Arizona in a few years and will mainly be parking in the garage during the day. We might look into getting a cover.

That is a pretty cool (no pun intended) idea. My wife usually puts the groceries in the gear tunnel or back seat. Obviously, we have the R1T and not the "S" like you.

My mobile service tech told me the single wipe at engagement of the gear stalk is normal.

You can sudo turn it off by adjusting the wiper engagement to off.

I did this, and no more "ghost" wipes.

I have 22s now on 7,800 miles, no vibration whatsoever at any speed. I’d be tempted to take it to a good tire shop and get a second opinion
