Anyone with a Gen 2 Large or Max Pack fast-charge after updating? Any idea what updates were introduced?


  • Improved the charge time for DC fast charging for vehicles with Large and Max pack batteries.

Looking forward to seeing Kyle re-test this.
I wouldn't expect this to happen in any reasonable amount of time.

That being said, I did see his video (a list of first few minutes until I got bored) that came out today about the new ionna network. In that video he passingly mentioned that he heard rumors that the review and charging update was specifically to help with cold weather DC charging

Of course I'll just rumor, but that would make sense

My guess is much like they did with Gen 1 ...they went very conservative out of the gate...collected fleet data... and then adjusted charging curve and max charge rate. Cold weather charging is a challenge with any EV...and cold temps aren't the best time to analyze charging performance...unless you have extensively conditioned the battery but even then...I would want mild ambient temps to do a test.
