Updated: Many of you guys pointed out that there was on option to do this previously.
Well it eluded me for 9 months of ownership! :CWL:
Thank you new UI

I found it very irritating in the past:
The Climate controls (Fan outlets) either showed cooling or heating even if I needed neither.

Now you can press the Hot/Cold button (red/blue) to toggle off the AC

While AC off able to sill adjust fan speed

Bonus: Press the image of the seat to toggle on seat cooling / heating

All this is cool but should the seat have the wavy icon like overs. You forgot the heated mirror which can be easily turned on by clicking the mirror.

I noticed that you can now use split ac controls when I’m the only one in my vehicle. Previously I could only set one temperature unless someone was in the passenger seat. I like to set the passenger side cooler for my dog in the back seat passenger side.

The owners guide still doesn't say anything about turning A/C off and keeping the fans running!

Where was the toggle on/off function before the update?
I only managed switch off the AC including fans. Must have been my ignorance or really well hidden function only disclosed to the pros
At least the new UI layout makes it more clear now.
Would be nice though if the temperature indicator on driver and passenger side would show the current AC mode blue or red or none

It may not spell out exactly that function, but the option was always there to choose cabin temperature air that isn’t heated or cooled.

I agree it is more obvious now, so either way enjoy your tepid air :D

Just popped by to say the same. Rivian already thought of this... 2+ years ago 🫣
You guys are right!
My bad! 😭

Just looked at a Sept 2021 OM:

Interestingly this is no longer in the current OM and I wonder when they removed it.

I want a way to keep it in heat only mode. This has helped me avoid musty smells in all previous cars. AC is rarely required in PNW.

I've been looking for the "tepid air" feature since spring. I haven't received the update so now I'll try to figure out the old school method!

If you turn AUTO off, it should allow you to cycle through each (heat/ AC/ Fan) and then you can just adjust the fan speed.

This was not obvious from the UI of the screens. Thanks for pointing this out.

I just realized the car has over heat protection when it's parked. I saw the little thermometer a few times but didn't realize it turns on the vents when the thermo goes red 120f?
