Updated Canadian Delivery Windows

Did they say they were targeting July-Sep deliveries for Canada? I don’t recall seeing it but that sounds promising. I was thinking more like December 2022.

You should have had an email from rivian at the end of December 2021(mine came on the 28th).

Failing that, log in to your rivian account and ask via customer service chat, or phone them.

When I had an R1T Launch Edition pre-ordered, I was given a July to Sept 2022 delivery window. Then I changed it to R1S and I heard nothing since. Then the pricing thing occurred. Now I am waiting for the price changes to take place and then switch it back to R1T. I wonder if I will still have the July to Sept 2022 window. Would like to know what my delivery window would be if I changed it to the Max Pack.

When I had an R1T Launch Edition pre-ordered, I was given a July to Sept 2022 delivery window. Then I changed it to R1S and I heard nothing since. Then the pricing thing occurred. Now I am waiting for the price changes to take place and then switch it back to R1T. I wonder if I will still have the July to Sept 2022 window. That's great to hear that you pre-ordered late in 2020 and received a July-Sep 2022 time frame.

My pre-order was 18 months earlier (May 2019) albeit non-LE because of their F* up because I wanted a max pack initially and it was only available with Adventure and I received a sometime in 2022 timeframe. Radio silence since December (last CS contact).

I pre-ordered the R1S (LE) in Dec 2018. Located on Vancouver Island. I got a July-Sept 2022 delivery window in November. My R1T (Adventure, Large pack) pre-order (Aug 2021) got a delivery window of Oct-Dec 2022.

I keep getting told by CS that things are on-track. However who knows if that is true. Unfortunately I have both an R1S AND Canada counting against me on my LE timing. I have been tempted to swap them (LE -> R1T and Adventure -> R1S) if an R1S delay happened (but Canadian deliveries were a go) so that at least I could get *a* Rivian in the summer. But I don't know what is more likely to slow things down....being a Canadian delivery or being an R1S....

Have you asked rivian since?

Although anyone with a max pack order will tell you, the window there is 2023.

No, I did not ask her if the delivery window is still true. I will ask them s00n. ?

last week I had a chat with Rivian Customer Service and asked when the prices were going to be reverted, they said their team was hard at work setting a system where we would see the old prices. I hope software updates continue and the battery charging curve gets improved.

If any help with tineframe, i had originally ordered a R1S adventure, el cap, oc interior late Nov2021 and was given 2H23 as timeframe on the 28th dec email. I did change to R1T a few days prior to the 28th dec but CS told me he could not provide me with an updated timeframe on my new config. I do expect us on the EastCoast to have later delivery due to the fact that the only service center for Canada seem to be in Vancouver unless they sort of bundle up deliveries by province or region for the East Coast. Well, at this point, who knows really right?

Anyone saw an update on certification of the trucks in Canada ? This was disclosed in the IPO prospectus but I didn’t see any update since then:

Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (“CMVSS”) administered by Transport Canada. The vast majority of CMVSS are identical or substantially similar to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (“FMVSS”) in the United States, which Rivian R1T vehicles meet as of September 2021. Certain of the differences between CMVSS and FMVSS that are applicable to our vehicles include telltales, speedometer units of measure, certain labels, immobolizer requirements for anti-theft, and pass-by noise standards. Prior to distributing any of our vehicles in Canada, Rivian will ensure that such vehicles are modified to conform with CMVSS. We expect to complete all CMVSS confirmatory testing and provide an application for certification to Transport Canada by February 2022.​

Im a Feb 19 LE R1S with a July-Sept window. As I stated in the delivery thread in the Canada section, I think we might see a few token R1T canadian deliveries late 22, nothing before 23 for the R1S.

My new ICE ride was built today, awaiting delivery…Ill see how things are in 23 and decide if Ill swap then.

If they applied in February, it will be approved this month, or next if TC is slow. It’s a self declaration process, takes about 4-6 weeks to get the rubber stamp.

TC’s database available online doesn’t seem to be updated or comprehensive. Although the companies I’ve worked at that have gone through the approvals are listed ?

I doubt they will just do token deliveries. They said they would get LEs delivered in 2022. I have a July-Sept window for my LE R1S. And my Adventure R1T (Aug 2021) preorder has Oct-Dec.

Those windows may slip...my R1T may not come until early 2023....but I'm not expecting them to push all Canadian LEs to 2023 and then have to explain in filings that they did not meet their promise of delivering all LEs by 2022.

It also simplifies their assembly...there are a few differences with LE vs Adventure. I'm sure they'd like to get through all of the LEs and just produce Adventures only to simplify the lines.
