Updated Delivery Windows coming

I emailed customer service to ask them if the promised notifications of vehicle deliveries by the “end of the year” were meant for Launch edition holders only. This was their reply:

”Now that production and deliveries are beginning to ramp up, we will be sending out an updated delivery window to all Adventure & Explore preorder holders like yourself by the end of the year to help with planning purposes.”

Not that I’m going to put too much faith in a target that’s probably going to be 18 months out but it will be nice to at least know the earliest I’ll be able to purchase. ?

If it's coming from Rivian and it has a vague timeframe, it is 100% safe to plan on the last moment possible within the timeframe. They are masters of loopholes and technicalities.

I really like the release of the shareholder information right before the call. Convenient to make sure nobody really scanned through the data before the call!

Hope you wrong, I reserved in July. I was optimistic for 22 but that is fading quickly.

My guess is that orders in 2021 will be 2023 deliveries. I'm sort of expecting my late 2020 adventure pack order to be late 2021. It's not all by date, but it seems like a reasonable assumption for now.

Agreed, 2021 orders, especially those later this year are likely mid to late 2023. We will have a better idea next weeks with the emails and the survey on this site which can aggregate hundreds of orders across the trim levels and locations.

Rivian is behind at this point already and there is no indication that they will be speeding up anytime soon. They'll be able to finish LEs by the end of 22 and maybe a few early Adventure reservations, but I don't think we'll see volume production until 2023.

They revised that estimate in the S-1. End of 2023 now.
