any one notice slight increase in vampire drain since last update. I've been fortunate to have little to no drain since i got my R1S . but since last update ( Halloween ) have noticed maybe a 1 percent drain overnight .

I charged my 2023 R1T to 280 miles range, went on a 2 week vacation and ended up getting only 90 miles before barely making it home from the airport with 3 miles or range left. Quite the Vampire drain! I seem to lose 3-5% a night even with the Gear guard video turned off?>

Sounds like your 12V batt(s) could be close to failing.

Yes - issue emerged 2-3 weeks ago. R1S gen 2 standard battery. As experiment I charged to 100% and parked in garage 8 days ago - had 259 miles of range on Nov 1. Nov 9 it’s at 190 miles. ~10 mile drop a day is nuts.

I have a Ioniq 5 that I charged same day and parked it and it hasn’t dropped a mile of range since.

Miles of drop per day isn't really a helpful number for most of us in this case as some of us have about 285 miles and others have 400ish at 100% charge with only about 10kWh difference in battery size. I think percent would be a better number to share here.

My Quad with AT 20 Pirelli's looses about 1% per day. Recently I left it at the airport parking lot for eight days and it lost about 9% of charge - this is with Gear Guard off and not checking the app every day and just letting it sleep. From what we've been seeing 1-2% per day is about average loss and when it gets up around 4% then there's an issue. As others have noted it is getting cooler outside and the vampires are hungier (apparently they have to eat more when it's cold).

i wonder if i did a reset would it help at all as the problem , as best i can figure started after the Halloween update. called rivian and they say as most do that 1 -2 % loss is not unusual . i would be fine with that explanation if that had been my experience all along since i had the car but a year and half of little to no range loss over night going to 2- 3 % is concerning.

^ a full reset couldn't really hurt, but if the 2-3% drain persists, call Rivian and see if they can remotely look in to your 12v battery health. Your profile says "2022 R1S" so those 12V batts may be on the way out. If you're close to the 36mo/36k mile warranty deadline on those batts, keep in mind Rivian charges about $800 to replace them out of warranty.. so it would be in your best interest to push the issue with them IMO.

I hesitate to even share this possibility but....
After the halloween update my G2 R1S started to show the dreaded vampire drain as well. 1-2% overnight which I chalked up to just being my turn to be bitten (given it was halloween, vampires made sense). I happened to be looking at my security footage for "events" that triggered the camera. I saw that for some reason about 9 PM -11 PM the R1's brake light and front lights would flash. Then the interior lights and infotainment system seemed to come on. It would stay on for about 20 minutes or so, and then go to sleep, only to wake about every hour. If it happened during the day it didn't trigger the cameras. I asked for help and wise folks here told me how to reset the R1 and since then no waking at night and zero vampire drain overnight. Footage prior to the update did not have any night time waking. Maybe coincidence? I am sure that the majority of cases it is a 12V issue as people here are saying, but thought I would share my experience FWIW.

My car is going to brick itself at the service center sitting there lol! It's using 1% per day which is 4 miles or 120 miles per month. Almost one third of a battery is wasted every month. How they call the EPA numbers with this lie is amazing.
