I just saw a warning flash on my dash that approximately said, "Adaptive Cruise Control Unavailable Until Serviced." It went away before I could take a picture. I don't see any place to go check warnings, nor do I see it anymore. Anyone else have this happen? Should I be concerned?

I occasionally get momentary errors like that when starting the vehicle up. I'm guessing it has to do with the modules not coming out of sleep quick enough or some similar strangeness.

Anyone else getting this? I’m like 800+ miles into a road trip and this message came on after trying to use adaptive cruise once I got back on the freeway from charging at an EA station. The EA station did error out and crash after about 30 minutes of charging. Not sure if it’s related. Adaptive cruise remained unavailable for the remainder of my driving tonight (~45 miles).

Could be part of the issue in 2023.10.2

I’ve seen the lack of adaptive cruise and driver + come up a number of times over the last six or so months. It would always clear and never interrupt actual functionality of any system post reset.

latest issue after the previous update was a reset-persistent issue regarding lack of rear sensors.

Update just finished but I will have to check in the AM if still an issue.

I would suggest that if the error hasn’t cleared after a sleep cycle, do a hard reboot (left steering wheel button and hazard light) and see if that clears it. I had an EA station error/crash on me this past summer and it corrupted several of the systems in the truck, namely DCFC. A hard reboot fixed everything.

I vote for @bhopkins recommendation of a hard reboot as the first cure

My old Cayenne Cruise Control would go wacky occasionally. I'd be out on a flat stretch of highway with it on for well over an hour and all of the sudden it'd shut off and give a throw a "service required" message. After about 5 minutes the alert would disappear and I could restart the cruise (didn't even need to exit the freeway). It did that several times in the 100k miles I drove it. I always chalked it up to gremlins.

The error ended up going away the next morning on it’s own and the adaptive cruise worked fine. I think the it went to sleep over night and cleaned the errors. If a lot of these errors go away after a reset/sleep, maybe it should tell us to try that first rather tan go get it serviced.

I think the issue was related to the EA charger crashing. On the bright side, when I go to my EA charge history it’s like i was never there even thought it put about 50kW into my R1T before crashing. So free charge..unless it’s still thinks I’m charging and the session isnt over yet…

in the guide is says that you have to contact Rivian support before doing this. Is that really necessary?
