My R1T pre order date is 3/23/21 and I have a hard time believing I will get a truck this year. I estimate that at the time I pre ordered I was 35-38k in line. I am located 346 miles from the nearest SC.

My global view is a bit pessimistic and I am not convinced that Rivian knew what they know now when they estimated my delivery window.

I do believe that Rivian will do an excellent job executing to the controllable. I am not optimistic that Rivian can do better than 15k R1s in 2022.
Yeah kinda thought 30k for around that time but, how many are r1s, max, and explorer trim.

That is a valid point but now that folks know; how many are changing their config to large pack and Adventure trim?

I assume that when they make the change and have an earlier pre order I get bumped backwards.

I wonder how many pre order holders are Explorer Max and how many of them have switched to Adventure Large to get an R1 sooner? That may push delivery for some of us out.

Has anyone seen any evidence that changing from Max pack (for example) to large has an effect on estimated delivery or receipt? We are probably too early in the process to see someone have a delivery of a large pack that was configured a max pack through the time they made it clear that max pack trucks were in effect delayed.

But has anyone received any communication that changing from max to large effected the date?

I fall into this category and have not received any update; by email, guide, or configurator. Even post price roll back. Of course they have had their hands full with the roll back so maybe we will see something in the near future.

For the heck of it I chatted with Rivian today regarding mobile demo drives and delivery window.

As expected they provided scripted answers. Demo drives are active and your delivery window has not changed.

Have there been any reports regarding the EDVs?

The global situation seems to be getting worse and infant Rivian is at the bottom of the food chain. I am still hopeful my Jul-Sep 2022 window will not be pushed out beyond 1H2023.

Indeed they call out in their SEC filings recently that a lot of their supply stuff is short term and could harm them if any of it is not renewed/extended.

Rivian’s timing as it turns out is awful, not that I blame them for that. So many things out of their control.

The other EV truck OEMs are going to have a tough time as well. Wait and wait some more is all one can do and hope that Rivian survives!!

I have waited just over a year with another year or so to go (Jul-Sep 2022 window). Folks have been waiting much longer than I and don’t know how they did it.

I keep asking myself is anything worth the waiting? Not many days have passed since my pre order 3/23/21 that I haven’t thought about or searched the forums or the Rivian site or the news for something, anything R1T related. It almost feels like a curse. At times I think I hate Rivian.

If I had put that much thought and time into other aspects of my life I could have accomplished something great.

So why am I waiting? I want an R1T but I don’t need one! Dang!!! Double Dang!!!
This might be the most emo post. ? it reads like a 14 year old's journal:

"oh rivian, I hate you. i am wasting so much mental energy on this relationship. i am cursed. i could walk away! i don't need this. but still i can't quit you. dang. double dang."

seriously though: if it's really torturous as you make it sound, maybe take a step back. it doesn't take any effort to wait, you will get your truck in due time. just make pace with it.

i have thought that the anxiety and frankly resentment i sometimes feel reading about folks getting trucks who probably should have gotten them after a lot of other folks is not good for my state of mind. but i stick around because i like reading how happy folks are when they get their rigs and i don't want to miss something important (i wouldn't have gotten a test drive had i not seen the posts here for instance).

So, while i do make light of your post, i get where you are coming from.

So... I'm probably going to jinx myself, but I was paired with a guide this week, and signed a PBA for my adventure trim R1T Friday. No idea about a delivery estimate yet. For all I know it could still be July-Sept still.
