does anyone know if we use our phones as a hotspot and have the wifi from the R1 connect, would that provide all the connected functionality as if we had the native LTE enabled on the vehicle?

Apparently only when it's in park. I remember reading a post on Reddit, which has since been deleted, where someone exported their truck to another country and Rivian turned off their LTE plan. A few people in the same post mentioned that wifi gets disabled while driving, so you won't be able to keep connectivity from your phone, but Rivian can easily enable that through a software update. Apparently Tesla was the same way at first.does anyone know if we use our phones as a hotspot and have the wifi from the R1 connect, would that provide all the connected functionality as if we had the native LTE enabled on the vehicle?
...no I'm not trying to start a CP/AA debate..
...They better tread lightly here. There is enormous opportunity to reap ill will amongst the customer base when all of this hits the fan.
...boy will it suck to have to pay for ANOTHER data plan just to listen to Spotify when I'd rather be listening to (and seeing on a screen) Apple Music via my phone.
Not trying to start another screen projection thread, eh?Other than Tesla, what other manufacturer is denying CP/AA and forcing its users to pay for LTE to stream content? That's the rub.
This.If they want to charge me for data - they can pay for all their data too. They won't get free access to my home wifi anymore.
