In this process currently. Will let you know the result on Thursday. So far - fair offer that beat everyone else out there by ~$2K
I was kinda hoping they would handle this in a way that encourages those of us with Rivians to keep buying new Rivians. Meaning good values on trade ins. If they are fair, it could encourage me to replace more often.

They gave me $2,000 more than anyone else offered for my 2013 Honda Pilot so it was a no-brainer. As far as the process, we parked, gave them the keys and they gave us the plates. Zero issues.

My experience is similar to those above. Rivian offered $55k for the Audi. Carmax offered $60. I took it to the dealer who gave me $62.5 .. which is in line with CarGurus.

The almost $8k difference was worth asking around.

They low balled my trade in for the Range Rover so I decided to sell it myself. I think it really depends on what your trading in

Rivian offered ~17k for our 2014 ML350. Carmax offered ~18k. The trade-in tax savings (CO) and the convenience factor (I am a lazy man) made it a no-brainer for us to just go through Rivian.

Yes! Thank you! It all came together within 3 weeks after they sent me the "PPF has been removed from your order" email on 6/7. Picked up last Wednesday then was out of town over the weekend so we are still in our honeymoon phase:involve:

Others have said Rivian low balled them, so I think it’s highly dependent on where you live and what you are trading in.
For me, same vehicle a year later and the offer was nearly $5000 more than the first time. Gotta believe it just depends on what vehicles are in demand and how much stock of them Cox has.

That would make sense. And good for you!

I traded in a Jeep Wrangler for an R1T. They offered decent value. I could have gotten a little more through a private sale, but didn't think it was going to be worth the effort necessary.

The process was straightforward and simple at the Service Center where I picked up the R1T. They barely looked at the Jeep.

It’s all about algorithms that the computer spits out. Just like all the other instant quotes there is little to no human interaction. Luck of the draw and timing. Shift gave 50% more than other companies on a previous trade in. So benefited from their seemingly poor algorithm.

Mine was very different. I try to trade in my 2018 Rebel CC Fully loaded with only 39K miles on it certify from factory to 100K miles and B2B to 90K miles with 5K in after market extras. They offer 36500. KBB 42K. Needless to say I trade it to a much better deal somewhere else.

For my Model Y they gave me 35k and some change. The best offer I could sell it for was 36,750. However with the Tax difference I more money for it through Rivian.

So I accepted a trade in for my 2020 Telluride. They offered 44K, which was the high bid I received. I will be scheduling delivery/trade in in the next few days. Did you guys detail or wash your trade in's? Has anyone been denied their trade in for any reason?

I always ask for a trade-in quote when I buy a new car. But I've never traded one in before, because I can always sell the car for more than the quote. I figure the trade-in quote serves as a pricing floor.

When I picked an R1S out of the shop, I asked for a trade-in quote on my 2022 Tesla Y Performance with 6500 miles. The offer surprised me - if you take in to account the sales tax savings (in my state you only pay tax on the difference when you trade in a car) and the federal tax credit, what they were offering for my used Y was slightly MORE than a new Y would cost me.

So I decided to trade in...but I'd heard the quotes were only good for 30 days, and I wasn't sure when my R1S would show up. Sure enough, it showed up after 32 days. But I talked to my guide who said it was close enough, and they honored the quote.

I really just drove it in and handed them the card keys and title. They had an employee look it over while we were being shown our R1S, but there was nothing else to do. Super simple! It really was a great experience.

But, yeah, obviously how much they offer is going to vary by what you're trading in, as well as when and where. So getting quotes from multiple places is usually the best idea.
