I had a super hard time deciding on color. My wife always wanted Forest Green, I almost switched to White. Happy wife ... happy life ... sticking with Forest Green. Should get delivery within a few weeks. Just saw pictures of Launch Green with 22's and another of Forest Green with 20's. Surprisingly, I thought the Launch Green looked better, but probably because of the rims. Either way ... going to LOVE this car ... can't wait ... been waiting for over 3 years.

Any dark color will show dirt more and unique color will stand out but will date as the vehicle ages.

While white and silver will not show dirt as much as others from daily drives (not referring to mud), its bland and boring.

To date, I am not aware of any yellow vehicles being popular so it may hurt resale more than others. But you never know, it can happen....

At the end of the day, just pick a color you like and be happy about it.

While relative to other colors (especially neutral) yellow will always be less popular, I feel like yellow in this segment is somewhat popular. Like I see lots of yellow Jeeps, Hummers, and Broncos. Also, I think every single Maverick that I've seen has been yellow.

Oddly cars in colors are claimed to have higher resale. The resale risk in Rivian is Forest Edge (which I do not dislike)

Unfortunately Rivian Blue is not Porsche's Shark Blue. Today's Porsche color are superior to Rivian's choices.
Why is Forest Edge a resale risk in your mind? I change exterior colors daily in the configurator but have been stuck on FE since the day I placed my order.

I'm fairly certain I've seen statistics showing that often rare / unpopular colors actually end up selling for more than common colors.

Slow demand, but even lower supply can result in higher price. You've got the only yellow r1t in your state that is for sale right now, and set your price without any competition.

It's not a neutral interior color. Green in general is in style, but it won't last. Not that I dislike green, Im still considering Forest Green exterior.

I would go for FE if I really liked it. But I'm disappointed that Rivian didn't have the third option in the tan range. The "casket gray" exterior color was a waste of a choice. The could have done something fun with that color slot that would match well with a tannish interior.

I would not order FE without seeing it in person.

But I don't feel that any interior or exterior color choice is a big mistake.

Gotcha. I've been able to see it in person and still love it, and resale isn't really a risk for me since I tend to keep my cars for a long time, but was just curious to know the rationale.

It's nice to have something that isn't common. And FE is hardly garish. But I agree with Out of Spec Kyle that the one change Rivian should make is not using the FE color on the headliner.

I get a lot of compliments on the smurf blue. It's been 3 months and I still have people coming up to me to talk about the truck. Every single time. The lighter colors will probably less susceptible to fading.

Is this a NE thing? I have never seen any yellow jeeps, Hummers, Broncos (Sport or regular), or Maverick. In SoCal, we see all different makes and models so its not from not having large enough samplings.

Aside from school buses and Yellow Cab, only yellows I see otherwise is a Ferrari.

I understand. Just keep in mind that in those cases, its the vehicle that's rare first, then the color...

Rivian is not/will not be rare, in this context.

FE with rivian blue was the lowest selling combo on Cars and Bids. I think around $90k which at this point is lower than the retail for the vehicle if someone were to order now. Other combos are still going for 95-100k. It may not have been a FE issue but maybe a combo of the RB + FE which is a bit unusual.

I guess it depends on what you mean by age well. Do you mean protection from fading or scratches? If so the color is much less of a factor than the way you take care of it. Are you getting it detailed yearly? Is it parked indoors? Do you wash it regularly? Ceramic coated? If you take care of your vehicles to that level your car will probably still look better in 4-5 years than a new one off the line does. The paint correction and ceramic goes a long way.

If you're talking style wise there have been cars in really exotic colors since the muscle car era. Grabber orange, lime greens, plum crazy purple ect. The Red Canyon paint is extremely similar to a color Camaro my uncle bought in 2002 called Sunset Orange. It looks as good to me today as it did back in the day when he bought that Camaro and he just drove my truck yesterday and said the same thing.

That's a 20 year span for a really similar color and I've changed a lot in these past 20 years, still love that color. So as others have already said, buy the color you like and enjoy it. Take care of it and someone else will love it too when you're ready to trade it in.
