On the Lotus forum someone got to test drive one in Beijing and says they were blown away by how well it handled. Coming from someone that drives a Lotus that seems surprising. But given how well the Rivian drives in sport mode if the suspension was designed and tuned by Lotus to be more of a driver where the Rivian is a do it all off-road truck. It could be very good for what it is but its still A heavy suv so we will see. Im just glad new cars and models are coming from Lotus so I hope it goes well because the Emira is very promising but wont keep the company alive.

Review of preproduction from Carwow
I have to wonder if Rivian is ever going to have a vehicle that can go over 110 mph. Would likely mean sub 11 second quarter mile if they did and didn't give up any power after 10 seconds.

For the same'ish price as the Polestar 3, this wins my vote.. only question would be reliability. Kef is my home audio speaker setup, would love to have that in a vehicle.

One review "It has 4 regen settings, and even in the 4th, you don't truly get one pedal driving and isn't as strong as many other EV's on the market, it could really use a 5th setting."

Other review "The brakes feel strong, and because you select regen level easily from the paddles, you can go from full one pedal driving, or coast"

Also of note, they managed to achieve 2.4miles/kWh or 270 miles of the claimed 370.

Aside from that, I love the interior, it has a tasteful mix of digital and tactile flourishes. Love the yellow light strip around the dash.

I blame the folks who complain about getting "seasick" from regen for the lack of capability in any EV.

haha, I think that "herky jerky" is mitigated by keeping the pedal mashed to the floor.

Summing up the first half before I fell asleep

- 900hp
- 0-60 in 2.9 seconds
- Kyle figures 140 usd for this model 95k for the base. US Pricing not announced
- Frunk is enough to store charging cable.
- Air ducts are cool
- Lidar has spray nozzles, side facing Lidar retracts into the body
- Interior is fantastic quality with metal switches/laser cut speaker grills
- Sound system is 2000 watts, only made it to 40% before ears started to bleed. Superb quality.
- Trunk is quite functional, but rear seats don't fold flat at all due to seat bolsters
- Leg room in the rear is quite good
- Several styling and space cues are definitely inspired/aimed at the luxury Chinese market. (Chinese company is the main baker of Lotus)
- Infotainment is running Unreal Engine, and is quick and responsive.
- Charging is 350kW with and engineering focus on battery/motor cooling
- Seats aren't perforated, so no cooling. Front seats are heated, rear don't appear to be.

Kyle got in the car to do a drive.... I fell asleep.

I won't. Too many other sources out there. I don't know if his extremely long videos are a lack of editing skills or inflated self worth, or maybe there are people out there that want feature film length reviews of vehicles.
