Going on a two week trip without the Green Lantern. It will be parked in covered parking at PDX and will not be plugged in. Has anyone left their R1 at PDX for an extended time? Thoughts? Concerns?

I left mine in covered parking for four days in late June with gear guard on, lost about 2% a day if I remember correctly. Vampire drain is better than it was earlier on. Leave with a high soc and you should be good, just don’t compulsively check the app and wake the truck. Maybe you’ll get lucky and there will be an open L2 spot.

Thank you for the response. Just a tad nervous, as it will be my "first time".

Should be fine for one week if you start at fairly high %. If you're more concerned about vampire drain than documenting possible break-in, turn off Gear Guard and you'll guaranteed be fine.

Depending how far you are from PDX, it may be cheaper or a wash to use Lyft vs paying for parking. I'm about a $40 ride away from my local airport, and parking (in the economy lot) costs about $100 for a week.

Airport parking is the only reason we've considered keeping the Civic and not trading it in for the R1S, neither of us wants to leave our Rivian at the airport. Forget SoC concerns, other humans. See: piss guy

If your concern is the battery drain…just leave it at as reasonably high an SOC as you can. Expect to loose ~1.5% per day with GearGuard on (less if it’s off). So, if you’re leaving it for 14 days; expect your SOC to be anywhere from 14-30ish % less on your return. If that is enough to get you home (or to a fast charger) then no worries. Practice app discipline and don’t keep waking the truck. Check on it once halfway through your trip for peace of mind and then maybe on your way back (once)

Rides to and from airport are what friends family and Uber are for.

I left our R1S at IAD for 10 days unplugged (covered parking lot at a nearby hotel). Left at 65% charge. Upon return, we were at 57%. Very little vampire drain and had a nice update ready to install on our return. I was apprehensive too but happy with the outcome.

edited: Gear guard off. I only checked the app about 2-3 times in those 10 days.

One of my other concerns is vandalism, so I will be keeping Gary the Gearguard "On".
