They could do a Festivus update instead!

Married my wife on Festivus. Smartest plan I ever came up with. Airing of grievances is perfect. I start my airing, she says I don’t want to fight on our Ann’y, I claim victory and do the “Gritty” It’s the one win I get per year :)

Not buying that. With as much effort as they put into the Halloween update, I can't imagine they couldn't manage to get even some basic Christmas themed functions for locking/unlocking, especially with an update rolling out a week before. I think this is specifically done to avoid controversy.
Disagree. Software team has more important things to spend time on. Yes I want it, but snow mode was bigger safety priority, among a variety of other features in the pipeline.

Still not buying it. Those same constraints existed in September and October and they still pushed out the Halloween update. The time spent developing that could have been used on other meaningful updates as well but they chose to spend it on Easter eggs. Either they don't have time for that stuff and shouldn't have done it for Halloween, or they do have time for it and can do it for other occasions.

I think the Halloween mode was just a preview of something they are going to charge for in the future. I would pay for it personally, it’s not integral to the truck. It’s a fun extra thing

I think Halloween was the best holiday for new nature sounds and lighting.

Curious what nature sounds you would do for Christmas? Would you do green for the lighting?

Or the person or team implementing it got permission to do it outside of their typical workday because they felt it would be a fun thing to do, and didn't care enough about other holidays to do anything for those.

Being given a bit of a break from the grind of bugfixing for something fun would be a huge morale booster if I were in their shoes.

Possible the holiday updates had bugs so they skipped it.

I think Xmas is too controversial for them to do any Easter eggs. At least for now. I can see something for 4th of July but Xmas is too religious to do anything with.

At least use a holiday closer to Christmas than July 4th as an example, go with New Years Eve.

I think it would be absurd to charge customers for something as basic as temporary graphics and sound changes for a holiday. While the Halloween mode was neat, it brought absolutely nothing to the table that would be worth paying for, especially given its time-limited nature.

I preferred the owl over stock tweet when locking. I'd pay a one-time couple buck fee to pick the owl permanently
