I stayed in Curry Village earlier this week and saw 20 waypoint chargers that look to be very near completion. If you know the area, they are in the old Ice rink parking lot.

I counted 30 chargers around the valley--pretty cool. They are not all online yet, but it looks close.
I was able to charge at Yosemite Lodge for a few hours while hiking Lower Yosemite Falls.
I saw three other R1Ts in the park; my kids play the old slug bug game--but with Rivian's.
Great times--thanks Rivian.

Talk about investment. That's a boatload of chargers. I like RJ's approach with this. Supplement the Supercharger network with chargers ready to charge a large number of Rivians and more. THere's a future revenue stream here, plus a built-in advertisement for the brand.
It's relatively low cost to put in L2 chargers. No need to put in expensive AC/DC power cabinets. They're probably utilizing the existing power that is already in facility. I bet the hardest part of the project is convincing the park service to let them install chargers in those spots.

I think this is a great low cost investment to get eyes on the brand. There are millions of people who come through the park every year. The Valley also needs more L2 chargers.

I do wonder what signage they will put up to prevent those valuable spots from getting ICEd. Tow away? Then you have those Tesla drivers who will hog up the rest...

Would be great to see a RAN in Oakhurst or at Tenaya where there are some superchargers
I had read somewhere that Oakhurst or Fish Camp was on the list of future RAN’s.

That may have changed now that the deal with Tesla is happening.

There are a lot of chargers at Tenaya.

RJ has said the deal with Tesla doesn't change their plans for RAN. I imagine it could possibly change sequencing priority, but probably not where they put stations in the end.

FWIW, for RAN near Yosemite, Lee Vining is coming soon and the original strategic plan had Fish Camp and Groveland. Groveland had some signs of construction, and Fish Camp has a permit or utility request outstanding (see the link in my signature to see where).

Saw all this when I was there beginning of July. Would be nice to have the RAN dc charger close, but there is already a tesla supercharger at the fishing camp so with the NACS switch coming I dont see why they would add anything there. Would be cooler if they put DC charging on the north side of the park

Lots of ICEing to come.... parking in Yosemite can be tough.
Yes, that's going to happen. It seems like Rivian's strategy is to flood the park with chargers to increase the likelihood we can find an available one. However, I had no problem getting one of the available one near the Lodge. With all these new ones coming online it will be easier. Getting to the park early is the key--also after 5pm things ease up when day-use folks leave.

These spots need vibrant green paint on the pavement and someone needs to enforce the parking for EV charging.
