Calculating the statistical probability of a forum member taking delivery is an effort to estimate 3rd party deliveries is missing the point. The fact that the forum acts as a network with some members actively searching news, social media etc.. for any mention of Rivian news means we're collectively pretty good at discovering what Rivian is doing. It's saying something when journalists come here to get the latest Rivian scoop to print. Could Rivian have made a handful of Jan/Feb deliveries without our collective knowledge sure. Could they make 100+ 3rd party deliveries without our collective knowledge? I doubt it, what say you?
That being said there are a number of reasons Rivian could miss the delivery expectations that they set. Among them supplier component delays, assembly quantity constraints, delivery constraints, quality issues, etc... Whatever you want to call these constraints they could be put into one of two categories #1 Issues out of Rivians direct control and #2 Issues within Rivians direct control. Being that Rivian has made 3rd party deliveries in December and Rivian continues to make employee deliveries this means they have the ability to deliver to non employee early reservation LE customers. This choice to not deliver to customers who have been personally told they would receive their Trucks in October then soon, then Jan/Feb... and the fact that they don't give a reason in these specific cases is what I feel is bothering some members.
