R2 order emails now going out

The R2 order tracking list shows that people are getting their order email. So people are getting them now. The order reservation requires another $400 to put in the order. just FYI.

Hopefully I am not too far down the line, but I don't have an R1, so who knows how far that put me behind.

I hope mine doesn't come up. Early day 1 reservation, near 2 service centers and R1 owner. The issue is that I love my Quad R1T enough that the "launch package" is unpersuasive and I'm waiting on a 3 motor variant .....or keeping my R1T to add an R3X at some point later...

That was unfortunately unrealistic as you reserved four months after it was revealed.

Same. I don't need the size of my R1T Quad, but from what I've seen so far, I don't think I want to give up independent rear motors/torque vectoring. Thinking I'll hold in hopes for a Tri-Motor R2 w/air suspension or similar spec R3X at some point.

Based on my birdie, rumors are that about one hundred batches are going out a day with more ramping up towards the end of June.

I have a feeling a lot of people are waiting for coastal cloud interior or other paint colors. They heavily pulled up coastal cloud and forest green/borealis to just 2 months after launch vs EOY like they initially said just weeks prior to that.

I don't think they are making very many R2's currently either, hence the slow order rollout. I also don't think many people are buying the current options right now. If you're spending $60k you're gunna wait for exactly what you want IMO.

They also have a lot of software bugs and features missing...this next month or two is a classic soft launch scenario.

Yup, exactly this. They wanted to hit a deadline but are now using data to calibrate where resources should be put and better prepare for more orders.

I originally was going to get the black interior to get it sooner but upon seeing it in person...I'm strongly leaning coastal cloud, specially if available as early as August. Wish there was more contrast in the black crater interior.

Also wonder what the take-up rate will be on Borealis now that it is September rather than 2027. They said only limited edition color is Launch Green, so sounds like purple will be around as long as people keep ordering it. One of those people might be me depending on when my number is called. The R2 just begs for a fun color.

Most locations haven't even had ANY deliveries yet. Like zero at a given Rivian center; they're starting next week.

R2 definitely needs Rivian Blue and Red Canyon. The Borealis take rate will be very very low after the initial sales. Historically purple vehicles do not sell well. Kinda like station wagons...everyone on the internet will claims they want it but no one actually shows up to buy it.
