Cancelling my order. I'm sure shareholders will be impressed with a huge cancellation in preorders. Not sure the price increase will matter if your backlog reduces from years to months.

White is now no longer included either. For those that say they need to make a profit that is true but no so soon. They should have said for new order holders not existing ones. In addition the paints were also expensive anyway along with wheel choices so this is just profiteering. Will be interesting to see the number of reservations by March 10th. I assume the number goes down.

Its time to move on from Rivian! Seriously $18K increase is worse than dealer adjustments/markup and no guarantee they won't raise it again before the actual delivery.

I have lost all the respect for Rivian.

Any chance Rivian will honor prices for preorders before the pricing change? The new pricing will mean I have to cancel. Way too much! I know it’s in a different class, but will go ahead and order the Model Y now.

If you go to make a configuration change to a launch edition preorder it shows the launch edition is $85k now, rather than $73k.
But if you don't still old price show same ? aka until you don't change, ur price will remain same?

I thought Rivian would go the Fisker route but not like this.
Insane price increase not yet reflected in my configurator.
Short range, crazy price (lack of cup holders:p). Gonna wait to see if it affects all pre order holders and if yes, I’ll get my money back.
What a joke!!!

Wow, this thread blew up.

I confirmed with my friend who works there that this does affect preorders too (but that seems to be well known already since this thread blew up).

Mine seemed to go from $81K to $95K, that's surprising.

I'll still keep mine. Hopefully many others will drop out and I'll get mine earlier lols. :p

Some prices went down. Off road package is now free/included.

edit - it is just the tow hooks that are now included. Thanks for pointing that the rest of the off road package is now in the gear page.

I figured it was coming too, but I didn't see this much of an increase coming. And then also taking options that were previously included and charging for them

All this makes me wonder just how much suppliers are increasing their rates to reflect this increase in pricing as well as how much did Rivian take into consideration when updating their new pricing. I do like that we now have options we didn't have before, but the cost increase does put a damper on things.

Well, there is one advantage early adopters will have to those that prefer to wait for later editions that will not have any first production issues: the locked in lower pricing.

This is really odd...I don't see exactly that view, but looking on the portal right now I see below. Looks like your R1S LE is priced different than mine? I ordered Feb 2019...did they change the price based on when you ordered?

[Edit - you have you be talking R1T with the kitchen - and must be the Max pack]

You'll have to open the configurator ("add adventure gear" and go to the summary, don't save unless you want to make changes) to see the new prices for now. And yes, mine is R1T LE.

The smart thing to do for their brand would have been to honor the pricing all pre-orders had on their configuration as of today and charge the new pricing for all that come after today. They must have made a calculated decision that bottom line matters more now than brand. Business is a contact sport.
