It was a tough sell when my configuration was 122k cdn. Now its 134? Fuck me. This has become stupid.

Me too - just checked mine plus HST on top. I'm at $143k. WDF. I can't justify spending $143k on a new truck. My ridgeline (2020) cost me $48k all in. Not the same thing obviously but makes you rethink this.

This was a bold move that I think was silly to do with a big single pop. I’m still a buyer at the moment but I expect quite a few folks will drop.

SOB. This email reads to me that everyone but LE are seeing price increases to existing reservations.

I really hope this is the case I would be so mad to wait over 3 years then have this happen. Then have to cancel because that's just too much money. Looks like the TRX it is if they increase mine.

LE is increasing also. In my case by a about 12k (previously was $81,450 for the same config.)

Base increased by $12k (off road upgrade appears to be included again? and is now called "Tow hooks")
Kitchen increased by $1750
Spare increased by $100
Wall charger increased by $250

This is really odd...I don't see exactly that view, but looking on the portal right now I see below. Looks like your R1S LE is priced different than mine? I ordered Feb 2019...did they change the price based on when you ordered?

I agree with all your comments. This made my stomach sink. I was so interested, but a 22% increase from ~$81k to ~$99k is absurd. It's definitely time to shop the competition.

Guess we got our answer. Rivian was just a massive cash grab. The founders got theirs, went public, will cash out (some already did) and will leave with no intention of actually selling large amounts of vehicles. No way people are sticking around to pay a 25% price gouge on top of what was promised. The part that really sets me off is that I could have selected a Launch Edition but it was within my price range to pay $10k for the max pack. Of course they told us max packs would be produced first at that time. Now I have to pay $6k just for the same quad motor I could have had for free and cannot afford the max pack. Not paying $120k for a truck that was barely over $90k yesterday

What a bummer. No doubt this is going to drive a ton of enthusiast early buyers away. They could have won a lot of goodwill by honoring (or at least discounting) LE preorders, which is kind of a drop in the ocean compared to the long-term sales goals.

Let's take it easy on the personal insults at RJ and Rivian here. Presumably this is necessary for viability. I don't like it either and it may be a nail in the coffin for many reservation holders, if not the brand, but that doesn't make it malicious or even incompetent.

There is no current MSRP cap for the credit.
