Scab? Are you saying I should expect harrassment? For my truck to get keyed? You seem to condone as much. Is it OK to damage the $105k range rover? Or how about the $100 lifted Ram TRX all tricked out?
Yes, you should absolutely expect that.

Land Rover and Ram didn't pull a bait and switch on folks who waited 3+ years.

RIVN is diving fast. I wonder why.
I sold the rest of my shares. I can’t trust a company who does something like this, especially with what Laura Schwab had said. I’ll re-examine their business in a year or two to see where they’re at, but as of now I can’t risk having that exposure

I'm keeping my R1S reservation with 1H 2023 delivery because who knows, inflation could hit 20% in 12 months. But right now I can't imagine driving around a $100k vehicle.

I am sure glad I hedged my bet with reservations for a Hummer EV SUV and Silverado RST. The trim package I chose (3x) for the SUV ballparks it for the first have of 2023 just like my R1S.

I will continue to wait "patiently" until that time for my final decision. A lot can happen between now and then, but GM is starting to look a lot more attractive at the same price point. Not to mention that GM isn't going anywhere anytime soon and my local GMC dealer is 10 mins away unlike a Rivian Service Center.

If Rivian doesn't want or appreciate my business or hard earned dollar then I, along with many others, will take them elsewhere. I never thought I would say this, but I am rooting for GM to prove the world wrong and come out swinging with their EV lines.

So you damage someone else’s property for supporting an American owned business?

This price increase, so close to deliveries for folks that have been supporters and committed for 3+ years is completely unacceptable. They should have put in some graduated increases based on when pre-order was made so that the true Rivian loyalists and promoters don't become detractors. SOOOOO disappointed with how Rivian handled this. RJ TRULY MESSED UP ON THIS ONE!

This was a total boneheaded move. Everyone is and should be pissed. But don't hate on people who end up buying the Rivian at the increased price. As many pointed out, the truck was always under priced compared to other alternatives (EV cars and trucks). I hope anyone who gets the truck really enjoys it.

A lot of us own or owned Teslas and we hate a lot of things about the company and they pulled a ton of scams to keep their company alive when they were operating at a massive loss - battery swap station for grants, multiple price and configuration switches after orders and big changes in their service program canceling loaner cars in large markets etc.

That said - Tesla never pissed off their customers in such a massive way. This speaks volumes about Rivian's leadership and their potential for growth. I have been skeptical about their business plan but I love the R1T product so I have continued to watch them closely.

I can afford the truck at the new "market price" but I'm actually more concerned about their long term plan. They can't sell EV credits to stay afloat like Tesla did. I don't want to own a product with a sketchy company that might not exist in 5 years. I did that once with my model S purchase and it actually paid off - but I'm not sure this company has the guts to be as ruthless as Tesla was to build this business.

What a company. I'd expect a company that I have had a deposit with for over 2 years to honor the pricing I have seen for over 2 years. It's now up 20% at slightly below $90K seems awfully pricy for a midsize pickup. I wonder what a similar lightning costs.

Not really the point. The point is a small stove, small sink and some cutlery on a slider drawer for $7K is ridiculous. Doesn't cost more than a grand to manufacturer that thing.
And you know this because you are a specialist in manufacturing this specific item for the specific company that makes it? It's REALLY easy to just say things on an internet forum, but you're wrong, I guarantee it.

See, I just said a thing too! Crazy.

The insanity continues - 3 1/2 years wait for nothing, I'm out. $15K buys a lot of gas. $100k buys a couple of good trucks.
Agree. I'm still holding my Rivian reservation spot, but I could buy a bunch of other sweet vehicles - BMW M3, Taycan, C8 Corvette, etc., put gas in it, AND pay $2k a year in service/maintenance on my 12 year old Avalanche - and still come out ahead financially.

I'm ok at $70k to $80k for a daily driver, but not $100k for the R1S or any other vehicle. I can afford it no problem, but I'm struggling to justify the value of it.
