Yes, but I just hit ignore in the meantime. Can the mods delete trash like this?
Let's be honest, they've allowed transfers in the past without issues and they now have their hands full with more pressing matters...Yep, will be interesting to see how Rivian handles this, especially in light of the price increase this week. Really can't see them supporting the sale of a reservation at pre-markup prices. Perhaps they cancel the reservation or perhaps they might allow at post-markup prices.
the difference now is that Rivian will give up roughly $20k in revenue if they allow it. And if they dont, it's one less sale they won't have to take a loss on. you can bet they will be looking for every possible opportunity to cut their losses after the events of this week. I doubt their goodwill price rollback will extend to folks trying to profit off the sale of their reservation. They may be a little more flexible with a transfer upon death situation.Let's be honest, they've allowed transfers in the past without issues and they now have their hands full with more pressing matters...
This is not an endorsement of selling reservations, just an observation that Rivian likely won't notice/care about a few transfers.
Well played @electruck.They may be a little more flexible with a transfer upon death situation.
The difference is who has the power. The truck isn't yours until it's in your hands. That's really the only difference. Not sure what the difference is here between me taking delivery of my R1T and selling it next day for $12k more on the street and just selling my spot in line? I put my faith in RJ in 2018 by putting a deposit down, he’s done nothing but let us down for 4 years. This past week was the last straw even though he walked it back.
The difference is that you need to have the financial ability (credit) to do the first one and Rivian has no control of what you do with your assets. The second option is free money, and Rivian is not the government. The reservation is yours, but the truck is still Rivians. They can sell or not sell you their truck. Not sure what the difference is here between me taking delivery of my R1T and selling it next day for $12k more on the street and just selling my spot in line? Histrionic much?I put my faith in RJ in 2018 by putting a deposit down, he’s done nothing but let us down for 4 years.
