I'm not a paint expert, but I've seen several comments about how Silver is a difficult color... This makes it especially surprising that Rivian would choose LA Silver to be the only no-upcharge color in their current/revised pricing model.
Silver is not a difficult color to spray. Certain colors of silver that have a lot of flake or pearls can be difficult to keep homogenous but with good equipment it becomes a non-issue. Now reds, yellows, and bright greens and blues.... thats tough.

I know...I hate that its probably going back to the same place that QCed the vehicle and allowed it to be delivered to me in that condition to have the rework done. Basically, they get this one chance to fix. If not, I'll try to sell and make a profit.

Did you ask about the 7 day policy and how that works? Not to be rude or anything but its 78k+ vehicle. If its not perfect I would seriously see what that policy is good for and what are the conditions, put you back of the line etc.

Body shop resprays are never as good as the assembly plant where the factory paint is baked on at roughly 300 degrees. It can’t be duplicated in a body shop.

Did we ever figure out his email? lol. I have sent pics of all the issues to the service advisor lead and my guide.

RJScaringe @rivian.com (really). Usually these sorts of things are screened by an assistant and kicked over to the relevant department for Speedy resolution. At least that’s been my experience with big companies

Not necessarily. Most TSA acrylics are cured at around 200 now down OEM lines but with the new acids and catalysts, some don’t even bake much hotter than 150 ambient. Ovens are now more set up to keep ambient temps high enough to not cold skin a part, but they mostly rely on mixed wave IR to cure panels, something a good body shop also has. Also, any good auto body shop has TSA compatible clear that will rock up just as hard.

On principal I wouldn’t take the same car back because fuck that, but it won’t necessarily be a worse paint job. It’ll probably have a flatter coat on it than the peel coming off most lines.

I asked my Guide, and he said he'd get back to me, as he had to ask some higher ups on that.

I've now seen the striping on 3 separate Silver R1Ts...1 other in person and John Rhodes video on YouTube with Kim Java. Buyer beware. They aren't QCing (Qseeing?) it correctly for sure.

A the previous commenter mentioned about the painting process, it was clearly affected by the same batch (its most likely the same batch of silver vehicles) they will have to take back unless people are alright with it. I don't think John is on this group as he has his own FB group so doubt he will find out.
