fair point. understand some garages dont fit but i dont think that should be a main design decision as most garages probably will fit.

I think the “most” will vary by region and age of house. Where I lived in Pennsylvania and now in California that’s not the case. Maybe I’ve just been unlucky, but of the 5 garages I’ve had, this one ties with another for tallest opening. The other 3 were lower. In fact, I had to adjust the travel of our garage door opener to get the height that we have now. It was set lower when we moved in.

My introductory call went pretty much as others have indicated. No update on delivery date other than April-May is most current and they're still working on the improved delivery estimator tool. She acknowledged that Ocean Coast is still MIA and Forest Edge is starting to appear, but with Black Mountain configured that's not an issue for me. All exterior colors are currently in production. My guide was insistent that she sees an increasing number of R1S on the line, so that still doesn't explain the person whose guide said they aren't making them yet.

So if no one gets a VIN in 2 weeks, Rivian will have missed another self imposed deadline…

Winch? In discussion, on the roadmap, being tested, perhaps available in 2023, as an accessory.

Saw a recent article, apparently winch operation is in the Rivian app now? And this article mentions "later this year" . Not clear that the article's author has been following Rivian too closely, based on some of the article's content. He does mention the winch controller was included in a recent app update, and made it sound like he meant a phone app.

Talked to my guide today. Similar to other people's experience about the timeline. Locked the configuration (no more fun anymore with changing config!). I was interested about the cargo space behind 3rd row, which she didn't have available but she gave me width, height, and depth in inches. With these I cannot accurately calculate the volume because some space will be taken by the reclining seat and the slope of the rear trunk door.

She gave me a demo VIN to get quote for insurance. Geico recognized the VIN and quoting me $30/month increase - which is surprisingly good

The info you mentioned was mentioned on the same website last Sept, so I was kinda thinking they were saying it just showed up in the app for users now or something like that, though the article was uncomfortably vague. I wonder if you see the winch controller in the app if you have an R1T?
