I've had an on-going issue/non-issue, and am just curious if anyone else is seeing something similar. I've been convinced that the front-passenger side is sitting slightly lower then the front-driver's side (maybe 1/2"). I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks, but I took a tape measure to it and it is. I called service, sent them pictures/video, etc. They did their due diligence and pulled the logs. I received a call from Service saying that they'll take the truck in and look, so I said I'd get back to them once I figure out a time that works for me. I then I got a follow-up call yesterday from someone else that was reviewing my file, and they believe the suspension is performing as designed.

Also of note is that I had a suspension service light pop on on Day 2 of ownership, and they took the truck to the SC and fixed that issue promptly (and presumably did a diagnostic on the suspension at that time). There is no fluid leaking either.

There are no warning lights and the truck seems to drive fine. The air suspension does raise and lower on all four wheels. I saw the other post where there was significant sagging, and I would not put my issue/non-issue in that category.

Having said all of that - I'm still not 100% convinced that something isn't a little off. My concerns have been noted in my file, so if something more severe does happen, I am on record with them as expressing concern. Or if I still think it's an issue a month from now, I will schedule an appointment for them to look.

For those that are well-versed in the world of air suspension, what say you? Issue or non-issue?

I'm curious to know what happens when you sit inside and have a family member re-measure to see if the driver side comes down to match the passenger side. Maybe it is a weird quirk of the leveling software?

You calling me fat?! ?

I’ll have my wife measure over the weekend and will report back.

Anyone else concerned about the air suspension? Just got finished converting a vehicle from adjustable air ride suspension to traditional coil overs after years of problems and far too much money. Having been dropped into deep sand 9 miles from a road due to a suspension computer programming glitch, I'm worried about long term reliability. Anyone know if the R1s can be converted to standard suspension components?
A suspension computer glitch dropped you into deep sand? From what height?

If your wife can't help, I'm not tooo far away in Roswell. I also have a level and more tape measures than I can carry. heheh

(Don't get me started with my 2 Land Rovers' air suspension--see profile pic. I've ranted plenty on another thread).

Yes, I'm concerned.
My wife and I have a 2021 Range Rover Sport with the air suspension. I love it but I suspect our car is too new to have any issues and so far we have had none. The air suspension on one of our previous cars, a Mercedes CLS550, was fantastic. 70k miles with no problem. Car was totaled when a woman in an SUV pulled out into the side of my wife while she was driving down the road. Took out the entire right side along with the front suspension. Sucks too because we both loved that car.

I'm not too concerned. If I can get 100k relatively trouble free miles out of it I'm happy.

That would be like buying a Ferrari and swapping in a Honda F20C because the Ferrari motor needs to be rebuilt every 3-5 years.
What Ferrari motor needs to be rebuilt every 3-5 years? An engine out service (timing belts and valve adjustment) is not the same as an engine rebuild.

If I had to guess, given that Jeep’s setup has a hard limit on max speed fpr raised suspension heights, they spun the wheels enough to indicste an elevated speed, causing the suspension to lower itself.

So, not a glitch.

Something to keep in mind if you're running around in all purpose mode...

Went from Off Road 2 to bottomed out (either park or lower). Was going like 1-2 mph looking for spot to wade fish in the surf. Also took vehicle out of 4-wheel.

Nope. Didn't spin the tires at all. Simply got dropped onto the belly. Even disconnecting battery didn't reset system. Had to take it to the dealer who told me there was a programming glitch in the brain that controlled the ride height and wheel locking. Reprogrammed it and it started working again.

We have a 2009 Range Rover Sport and a 2012 LR4. Zero issues with the suspension in 10+ years on both. It's probably luck of the draw like everything else...

I just figure it is a consumable part that will wear out eventually and just know that they will need to be replaced at some point. Yeah, they're expensive but the trade off is that nice comfortable ride and good handling.

I just measured mine and the passenger side is almost 2 inches lower than the driver's side. I have not tested in all modes or heights or with/without passengers. It was measured in all-purpose, standard height. I also notice that it adjusts when I stop at a traffic signal.

Hopefully, there is a way to stop the auto adjustments.

Regarding the frequent auto-levelling at stoplights and such, I did noticed this in the most recent OTA:

Rivian R1T R1S Rivian Air Suspension concerns? 05D068F2-EADC-472C-89FD-A37917CE9660

“Improved automatic leveling behavior on uneven terrain”

This is just pure speculation, and I have no proof either way, but perhaps this part of the OTA update has something to do with the recent suspension woes

If it is trouble free for 100K. IF.
