For those with an R1T, is your steering wheel perfectly centered when traveling down a straight road? I took delivery this weekend and my steering wheel isn't level when traveling down a straight, non-crowned road. I had service try to correct this issue twice but my steering wheel still is off center (sits more in the 8 - 2-o-clock position than a level 9 - 3-o-clock position). The service tech insisted it was perfect, but it clearly isn't. I've never had this issue with a new car previously and wondering if anyone else has the same problem. The car tracks straight and they checked the alignment twice, but steering wheel is still a little off center.

Have you high-centered recently? ?

Mine required 8-2 to track straight after an off-road oopsies, and after a while waiting for realignment it got stuck in that position. When they fixed my alignment, it sat strange for a bit but eventually went to 9-3.

I just took delivery of the truck this weekend and it was like that when I drove it off Rivian's lot. They put it on the rack at the service center twice, but it's still the same. Truck sits level and tire pressures are all the same. The lead service tech tried to tell me it was because of road crown and my A/T tires, but that's BS. Even on perfectly flat roads the steering wheel is out of position. Just curious of this was an issue for anyone else.

My steering wheel was also off center on delivery day but tracked straight. Seems like it would just be a slight adjustment under the dash or something, but they ended up doing a tie rod adjustment. I've never been back in the truck so not sure if that fixed it.

Tie rod adjustment would be the correct fix... along with a complete check of the alignment. If the steering wheel wasn't centered from the factory, I wouldn't want to assume that everything else was properly aligned.

Mine has the same problem. The truck tracks straight and the steering wheel is off the same direction as yours, but mine is only off by maybe 10-15 degrees (not a full hour = 30 degrees). It's not a big enough reason for me to make a service appointment. I'm going to wait until I have a bigger problem.

+1 on the wheel not aligned. I find slightly driver side when the car tracks straight

Our Model Y did this on delivery and drove my OCD crazy. A four wheel alignment at the Tesla service center made the steering wheel dead straight.

I got my truck last week and it has this issue. I created a service request for an alignment. Has everyone been able to resolve this with an alignment?

I have the same issue turned just to left. It doesn't matter if you are on a flat road or not. Have a service appointment in December.

Drifts to the right as well but also have this message sometimes when trying to engage Driver+ but not always.

My service date is over 2 weeks away, do you think if I take it to a regular shop they'd be able to align it? Don't want my tires to wear unevenly, I drive A LOT.

Having the same issue on mine. They did an alignment and issue still persists. Have to have the steering wheel about 4-6 degrees to the left 90% or the time to track straight

We had the same issue after taking delivery of our 2021 Model Y.

The Tesla SC performed a 4 wheel alignment and it’s now dead straight.

Sounds like they are doing an alignment without centering the steering wheel first. Common problem these days, often done by inexperienced or lazy technicians that don’t physically lock the steering wheel in place before adjusting the tie rod ends. If they don’t, the wheel can change position while they‘re messing around when it’s on the hoist, and no one is in the car to notice.

Best to make them go on a test drive with you to see if it is straight before accepting the vehicle repair.

Alternatively, if it is in alignment and just the steering wheel is off centre, you could fix it yourself by rotating the tie rod end adjusters the exact same amount on each side. That will change the steering wheel position without changing the toe in alignment (assuming you’re comfortable doing that).
