Update #2. Spoke to my guide Erik this morning. My R1S is on the lot in Normal awaiting shipment to Venice Service Ctr. My question, does anyone on the forum have any idea how long it is taking to leave Normal and cross the country via rail? Just saw a You tube of the Denver service center and. apparently they have over 45 R1T/S models at the service center. Does anyone know how long it takes for the service center to process deliveries? thx
Do you mind sharing the sequence number from your vin? We saw one that was 6xx, the one on Cars and Bids is 351.

Trying to get a feel for how many might be out there.

ITS HAPPENING!!! I just got the “Your Configuration Is Ready to Confirm” email and found out that my guide is Trevor! No fair that he doesn’t still have his cell phone on at 9pm! ?.
So, fingers crossed the build time is 2 days like @888tom888 and then ship time is super fast!

I'm hopeful that they move to other LE R1S builds (without the underbody shield) next and don't go into Adventure packages with underbody shield.....
Not much love in this thread for early preorders with Adventure Package. Just relax, I'm not expecting any R1S Adventure deliveries anytime s00n.

As I watch each day go by with R1S deliveries to pre-orders well after mine, I can only wonder what could have been had I ordered that damn underbody shield. That seems to be the one difference in my config compared to others who have started with the delivery steps. To think, one small difference in the config could cause later deposit holders to leapfrog early deposit holders. This really seems like an inappropriate way of allocation.

I sure hope everyone is right in the prediction that the next "batch" of R1S's out of Normal will not have the shield.

It is now a running joke in my family and with folks at work/friends - statements like "you get that Rivian yet?" or "you think you'll have to wait another year?" or "4 years seems like a long time to wait for a car." Answer key: "no," "maybe" and "yes."
I share your opinion.

my reservation is 12/2018 With Oct-Dec delivery window. No under body/off-road package. I should have kept that option.

Are you referring to guide assignments in general or 8 steps opening? I haven't had any delivery related contact yet aside from contacting my guide to change my address, but I've had a guide assigned since March.

I share your opinion.

my reservation is 12/2018 With Oct-Dec delivery window. No under body/off-road package. I should have kept that option.
Do we think the underbody protection prioritizes delivery?

All or virtually all of the R1S orders with recent guide contact or a delivery have it. It was common to the first batch but we have no idea if it will be prioritized going forward for an extended period of time.

Thanks. I'm a 12/3/18 pre order but still no guide. Would adding that prioritize getting the guide at this point? I saw what appears to be my config (color, wheels) at the Atlanta SC last week and I'm like... there aren't that many people ahead of me in line. What's going on? Ya know?

I don't have underbody...never really gave it much of a thought. that said, if there was any indiciation it would speed things up I'd happily spend the $

Pretty much nailed it with this comment..I vote for stickying this somewhere!

The proof is in the pudding...you and I have the same delivery window yet much different pre order dates.

That leads me to be hopeful that I'll get mine closer to Q1...just a guess...
