Aug/Sept R1S: confirmation email + guide assigned!!

Just got my confirmation email, and saw that I had a guide assigned as well!!

I haven't confirmed yet because I want to talk to my guide first to ask about delivery window. I am also having some last minute hesitation about my exterior color choice of Forest Green - wanted to see if changing to Red Canyon would significantly affect my window.

Called and emailed my guide but no response so far. This is going to be a loooong weekend ...

Forest Green is dark color and will show every speck of dirt, scratches, swirl marks, etc.

I just had a great conversation with my guide. So glad they are responsive, and gave me food for thought this weekend.

As expected, there is no real way of saying how my delivery window is going to be affected with a color change. My current build is not already in production either. They said I can't go wrong with either color, and there is no rush to decide, but to make sure I picked the option I really wanted.

I think I'm going to need to plan some recon trips to Bellevue Service Center this weekend. Saw a bunch of FGs there last time but no RC.

@mini2nut that's definitely a consideration. My main reservation with FG is that it tends to look more monotone than green in lower light conditions (as do most dark colors). And @AxelR that's what drew me to RC. No matter what the lighting condition, there's no doubt that it's a red/orange-ish vehicle.

If you visit a SC and see some R1S' take some pics....and please take lots of pics if there is an R1S in colors other than white, LG, Limestone, and El Crap.

was just gonna say my guide said the same thing. they do not know how changing the config will impact your delivery. i think you'll glean more from social media to know what Rivian is batching and that will give you some directional signal.

and yes you have to see them in person before deciding. as of early this week the SC had a lot of vehicles on the lot including a few R1S so definitely sneak around. i think there was at least 1 RC R1T.

i will say that the two that look the most different between photos and in person are Limestone and RC.

@KingTodd no worries, I'll definitely grab some pics. @dleewla The last time I checked (last weekend?) they had like close to ten FG R1Ts, a handful of LGs, one RB R1S, and some other R1T colors but not RC. Agree with you that Limestone looks very different IRL. Not nearly as much blue in it.

Red Canyon is not on our list, BUT, both the guys at the MPLS service center and our first mile guy were gushing over the R1S in Red Canyon. To make it more difficult, my wife saw a Forest Green R1S in person and said it was amazing. Too many choices!

Thanks friend, I'm going back and forth so much right now in my mind - really just need to see RC in person at least once before making a call either way. Still exciting times!

@RDB my missus prefers FG as well, mainly because she perceives red as a little attention-grabbing. But I think all Rivians will do that regardless of color

I am happy to say I am part of this wave too. I finally got my email. Haven't done anything with it yet because I was taking my daughter to a party but I will be doing so shortly
