I'm continuing to read an over abundance of messages about Rivians being delivered with broken tonneau, cracked roofs, keys not working, and a laundry list of other issues. Why on gods green earth would you accept that trash product?

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but we look like dummies to outsiders. No person, buying any brand, should accept garbage broken products on day one.

How desperate do you need to be to accept delivery on a truck with a broken power tonneau on day 1? That's ludicrous. Even then, most of you know things are going to break and factor that in your purchase. Beta testing at its finest...cool if you want in on that. "I'm using my tonneau cover as little as possible"...that sounds idiotic.

I'm reviewing with my guide today and may postpone this thing for another 12 month. I have no probelem just keeping my current car. Rivian needs to get their shi* together.

Dude, its time you move on.

And honestly, how old are you? Your behavior here is insane.

This is the first vehicle I have purchased with this much delay between payment, it is also the first vehicle I purchased that I knew of a dedicated forum for the vehicle. Maybe there were others, but I didn’t know.

The one thing I take away from this experience, and I love the truck, is that I feel like I was really forgiving on my other vehicles and did really care or know about panel gaps. It the transmission skipped or froze I would take it in, but I wasn’t really concerned about squeaks or noises

I haven’t had any issues, and I sometimes feel like I must be missing something or too forgiving on this vehicle after reading the forums. I find my self sticking my head out the window listening for clunks or squeaks. And feeling all over the floor board for puddles or listening for sloshing in the door.

I then stop and think I should just enjoy the truck. I think taking delivery, knowing it was a new vehicle, and just letting the issues work out is the best plan. The is a lemon law in lots of places to handle in you get a bad product, but I don’t think there is a considerable difference in the probability of getting a bad product here. The folks at Rivian, including RJ, seemed to have invested a lot of time and effort in the vehicle and they seemed to remain invested in making it better. At the end of the day theses vehicles make or break their company so you can argue they have more at stake to make it right.

I can understand your concern, especially based on the posts here, but I take a holistic view of all the information available and it really appears like these are going to be awesome vehicles and I love being a part of this community.

Given your posts over the last several days (I figured this was your thread simply from the title), you are clearly getting cold feet about buying the R1T. I will say that it is not this forum's job to convince you to buy the R1T or convince you that its a good decision. That's only something you can decide yourself.

Freaking out about your upcoming purchase and then making all these posts about it does nothing to help you, especially when many of your concerns seem focused around how others will perceive you for buying an R1T.

Sit back, read threads, and decide for yourself whether you think its worth it. Do not expect to post threads like this and have a bunch of members hand hold you through your purchase decision.

You realize us "desperate...idiots" that are "beta testing" this "trash product" are the reason that you might actually have a chance to postpone you purchase for 12 months right?

These issues, while largely blown out of proportion IMO, are at least getting brought up and giving Rivian an opportunity to make it right.

You should probably be thanking us rather than belittling us. ?‍♂
Fair point. They would still see the issues through the service center, for the most part.

Thank you for the great feedback. After this topic, which already the feedback has helped, I will remove myself from the forum. People aren't dealing well with a potential customer questing the product.

Folks taking delivery of broken products look like fools.
If the Rivian product was as shitty as you seem to believe, they'd be sued out of existence and their stock price would be in the single digits. You're either a troll or a total idiot. Not planning to hang around and find out which one... 3, 2, 1, ignore user.

Are you asking me to not share my concerns and observations? I'm insane for it? ?
You're contributing to the negativity wormhole. Bringing up valid concerns is a little different than complaining about people "accepting broken vehicles". Especially when the broken things are covered under warranty and have little impact on the vehicle's use. Like broken tonneau cover that is repaired/replaced under warranty is what people are concerned about?....how many trucks don't even have a bed cover?

Don't make me do this again.

Your posting history here is of that of a very unstable teenager. You went as far as calling Rivian owners "scabs" for crossing the picket line when the price increase was first announced.

Move on.

Or just wait 12 more months and pay the exact same for a much more revised truck that works, and is a year newer? Rocket science. ?
You're in for a rude awakening if you think all the problems of today will magically disappear in 1 year. They are in growth mode. Maybe the tonneau will be fixed by then, but there will still be problems.

You may be right. I'm going to talk to my guide about options and bail from the forums for a while. You guys are tired of me calling out all the topics I'm reading here. Folks want to defend Rivian...I can respect that.
You're clearly not respecting....

Again, you keep saying this as if it’s fact. Maybe you can link to some posts where someone took delivery of a truck knowing it had a broken roof? Or “pooling water”. Or even keys that don’t work? How would they drive away from the service center if their keys didn’t work?

I am done feeding this troll.

Sweet. You bring a lot of negativity to the space.

Edit: I'm not saying I don't agree with many things being said, it's just the way it's being said. This is an enthusiast forum. If you are no longer an enthusiast it makes sense.
