find a friend, relative, acquaintance of someone who lives near a SC and ask if you can use their address. that should do the trick. We have just received a letter from the Rivian Customer Engagement Center. We had inquired as to why we had not received an invitation into the R1 Shop. We had also asked why we did not have a guide assigned as we were one of the very earliest adopters on November 28, 2018.
We were told that our preorder date was meaningless because we live in a very rural area, hundreds of miles from any of the Rivian Service Centers. The letter went on to say that Rivian is prioritizing deliveries to customers in or near major cities where Rivian has service infrastructure in place.
Reading between the lines, We think that we are being told that our order may never be filled as there will always be orders in big cities to be filled first.
We are very bummed about this turn of events. I have attached the letter from Rivian for everyone to look at.

You've already made it clear that Rivian doesn't regard you as a Friend.I kind of tried that already. I put the Rivian Factory address as my delivery point. I got a rather curt email back from Rivian Customer Service telling us that they had "flagged" our account and had changed our delivery point back to our home address in Florida.
Yes, I know that Rivian probably doesn't like my posts on this Forum, but as the old saying goes, "if the shoe fits......". I am now wondering what Rivian will do if an owner has the audacity to take their Rivian out in the boonies. If they should break down out there, does their warranty apply? What if an owner who lived in Los Angeles when they got their Rivian moves to Santa Rosa Beach, is their warranty now void????You've already made it clear that Rivian doesn't regard you as a Friend.
Here's the latest post of someone with a potentially big issue that lives too far from a service center.Rivian should have made it clear to potential customers that trucks will only be delivered to those in big cities.
I am sorry for Bobby's problem. But now I wonder how he got a truck three months ago living 400 miles from the nearest Service Center. My pre-order date was more that a year before his and I have an estimated delivery date of just 2024. They probably utilized a(non Rivian related) address closer to a service centre.I am sorry for Bobby's problem.
