Climate control in Rivian App is grayed out?

I have wanted to turn on the cabin climate control before going out to the vehicle and the option is greyed out in the app. What gives?

I've experienced some app wonkiness like this, but it was my charging session details that were greyed out. I don't have iOS. On Android it's a little harder to kill and restart an app like Rivian that constantly monitors Bluetooth for proximity (even with PaaK turned off). You will need to find the app info page (for me: long press the app icon and tap the information icon ), then force the app to stop; you should see the Rivian status bar icon disappear. Then relaunch the app. Hope this helps.

Your vehicle is asleep. You need to wake it first via the app then you can do that sort of stuff.

I don't see anything up in the corner to wake the vehicle.
Should I close the app all the way and reset the phone?

I’m having same issue. Using an iPhone and have tried force closing app and waking truck. Even tried unlocking it and standing right next to it, still nothing. Greyed out for me too.

I'm having the same issue on an iPhone. The cabin climate is greyed out. Sometimes when the R1T is not plugged in I can wake the vehicle and pre-condition it, but not when it is in a charging session, regardless of if it is still charging.

Your vehicle is asleep. You need to wake it first via the app then you can do that sort of stuff.

A large portion of the time I cannot wake the car, it just times out. (Android 13/Pixel 5, up to date Rivian app)

Truck is awake per app etc, day 2 of ownership. That’s been greyed out the whole time. Restarted phone also.

Mine eventually started working, though I’m not sure why. No problems since.

Just something I notice with the Tesla. If it just barely too far away for a Wi-Fi connection to work, but close enough for it to keep trying. I’ll also see things like this. Not saying that’s what it is but something to check.

Just noticed this today (day 6?) … the climate controls are greyed out if the vehicle is plugged in to the charger … in the winter that’s exactly when I want to be able to turn it on ??‍

I have the same issue in a R1S that I picked up yesterday. I contacted Rivian and they suggested deleting and reinstalling the app. That didn't work, so they created a ticket and said a mobile tech would call me to schedule an appointment.

Same with my R1T I licked up yesterday. Sometimes if you hit wake vehicle it works but it’s hit or miss. Currently it’s grayed out with no hope in sight.
