Is there any kind of a notification that new stuff was put into the shop or are you guys simply just checking it every day?

I just checked in every 5min... JK, every day to see if anything new popped up.
If you don't pick one, after a few weeks Rivian sends you an email reminder the "new vehicles added to the Shop" just in case you forgot to check in ?

the only way to find out if these vehicles are 2023 models is to call the guide?

I seem to recall someone saying the VIN might be sent to your web browser, but not actually displayed. Not sure as I haven't seen anything in my R1 shop yet.

Is there any downside in asking for shop access? I was originally planning on waiting for the revised tonneau cover but I have a sneaking suspicion that may take much longer than originally anticipated or Rivian will force us pre price hike orders to purchase a truck before releasing it due to price increases.

Interesting. Being in SoCal, I'm tempted to ask for access from my guide. That said, I'm hoping for a '23 model that also wasnt built in what I imagine was a crazy rush to push trucks off the line in December. My window is Feb/March, so might get vin locked any day anyway...

I'd say there's no downside. It's really the only way of telling Rivian that you're open to changing your configuration to get delivery sooner. Otherwise you'll have to wait until they decide to either produce your truck or need to throw more people into the shop to sell the ones that they haven't yet matched up.

Yes, unfortunately. It's a waste of time but that's how Rivian's playing it.

I am also seeing a few R1Ts in the shop with powered tonneau cover. Is Rivian finished redesigning the tonneau cover? I know they weren't delivering with the cover for a while even if you opted in for it.
doubt it. mostly likely builds that had it before they stopped adding it. just because its in the Shop now means it was built recently. there could be trucks that didnt pass QA that are months old and finally passed.

It’s so weird to me people assume rivian gets sloppy and rushes poorly built trucks to hit some target. They don’t strike me as the type of company, and if you believe they are why are would you spend so much money for one?
