Here's an update from my current test. I went down to check how it was going and to see current energy consumption level. When I clicked unlock on the fob it took MUCH longer than normal, and I was standing right next to it! I don't use PAAK either. Seems to indicate that the vehicle was actually in a deeper sleep state?

At any rate, after ~4.5 hours, I saw energy consumption at 0.1 kWh. Now, of course I don't know if that was on the higher side or lower side as it's just the one decimal place. Could have been 0.19 or 0.10. I'm cautiously optimistic it's on the lower side but let's just spitball at 0.15 kWh at ~4.5 hours.

~0.15 kWh / ~4.5h = ~0.033 kW, or ~33 watt draw. That's much better than the 65 watt draw I was seeing before. Extrapolating out for a 24 hour period and we're looking at 0.800 kWh consumed, or about 0.61% battery (assuming a 132 kWh usable battery which is what seems to be the consensus lately?).

Not bad! Still not zero, but it's definitely approaching acceptable for me.

I'll have a full report tomorrow at about 2pm PST.

Oh wow another variable for people to keep track of since some baby seats use the seat belt clipped.

Gear Guard
keys to close
phone to close PAAK (set your tent faaaaar away)
frunk not closed properly
cold weather
seat belts clipped

Nuclear submarines have an easier shutdown procedure.

I assume you are parking outside or at least in an uninsulated garage?
Attached garage. Shares two full walls with the house and there's a heated room above the garage. The garage is not heated, but stays 15 deg or above outdoor temps when it drops below freezing, most of March has been pretty nice here, have already mowed my yard 3 times, have a hatched nest of bluebirds in our bluebird box, etc.

Approx 1% or so per day with gear guard off and keeping from constantly waking the vehicle with the app (proximity lock/unlock) off at home

Tomorrow morning will be the 5th full day of my R1T sitting idle at home. I will report on vampire drain in the morning.
It has been exactly 5-days that my R1T has been sitting. Here are some details:

-outside carport
-Gear Guard off
-Rivian app checked once during the week
-45 to 67 degree range

RESULTS:
-Vehicle lost a total of 6% (1.2% per day)
-Vehicle lost a total of 18 miles (3.6 miles per day)

I am updating software from version 2023.6.2 to version 2023.10.1 today.

Well I think it's safe to say the latest updated hasn't done jack in terms of cutting back any drain. I did an early check on my truck ~20 hours in and it's still reporting the same energy usage as before:

I hope Rivian is reading this thread. Lots of good data!
I honestly don't think they care, their response anytime I've asked is, it's normal Teslas do the same thing. Their words not mine. I just remind them that I've never had a tesla and none of my other evs would lose any range over any period of time including the ones I work on. It's doing it cuz they want it to do it to keep the truck operatingthe way they want it, I don't think they will ever truly fix it. Also for me shipping mode will make it only consume 0.1kwh overnight instead of the usual 1.2 to 1.5 over a 12 hour-ish overnight period of mine. It's not the phone as a key or the proximity, it's the assist camera heaters and not having a delay for the truck to be ready to drive. The screens and drive system don't deep sleep. I feel like they will always drain to some extent which is why it has a user selectable shipping mode in the first place. All porsches come shipped to us in their version of shipping mode which we take it out of with the factory scanner, the customer can't do it because it's not necessary. I've parked a taycan outside for 2 months waiting on a part and the car didn't lose 1% of charge.

My model 3 just sat at airport long term parking for 4 days in some 40 degree temps and Lost 1%. That is with waking it up once a day to check it’s battery percentage.

Rivian’s battery loses sitting is not normal and hope they fix it.

I checked mine this morning and lost 8 miles in range over night. Just adding to the test case so I can easily follow.

This sounds like your vehicle isn’t going into any form of sleep state, whether basic or deep… You have something keeping the truck awake…

I’m on the latest software both truck and app, and see 1% or less (1-3mi) over a 12-24hr period. GG off, paak closed, and I do not open the app until ready to drive again. Climate/radio/heated-cooled options all off.
