How is it that Texas is second only to California in Rivians on the road, and yet, there is not one Rivian network charger in the whole state? Why is Rivian dissing us? What say, Rivian?

I have some thoughts but I’ll keep them to myself so I don’t get accused of working for Rivian again. ?

How come Tesla doesn't have any Magic Dock chargers in Washington? We have more Teslas and EVs per capita than any other state except for California, and WAY more than Texas ...

Why does Tesla hate us so much when we all love Elon and want to have his babies?

2 listed as ā€œComing Soonā€ā€¦San Antonio and one on I-45 between Dallas and Houston. San Antonio is just waiting for the chargers I think.

The answer to your question may be in the e-mail that was sent out today.

" Did you know every time you plug in a Rivian charger, that vehicle charge is powered by 100% renewable energy sources, like solar or wind?."

It would appear they want to have all their chargers connected to green sources. Perhaps in areas where they have to work a bit harder to make this happen, it takes longer to swing a deal for the green electricity.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
They are:
1) Trying to open up adventure routes, which in CA means there are none in major population areas - they’re all on routes to interesting places to get outside
2) Focused on renewable sources, which are super plentiful and relatively simple to contract for in the West. Iā€˜ve no insight into how that works in Texas, though the state of regulation and power inter connectivity there is interesting, at the very least.

To be fair, ERCOT does have a fair amount of wind and solar, I think most of the wind is in west Texas. But my understanding is most of it doesn’t have the heating systems needed to support winter operations. So when they get a winter storm, they blackout.

Just did a little research. In 2021, there were over 15,000 windmills in Texas.

For solar arrays, there should be over 113,000 solar installations.

Doesn't sound like there should be problems finding a green source with that level of activity!

Most of these comments I agree with pointed at Texas, but in reality it’s the 5th biggest wind producer in the world and by far the most in the US (~20% of all powers produced in state is wind). We also have most excellent adventure opportunities underserved by charging infrastructure where the majority of this is produced.
