I don't know the official name of that little compartment in the Gear Tunnel door (air compressor hose storage). Because there's only one latch at the top, the bottom tends to push open because the hose is trying to expand out, and I rolled it back up in there real nice, but eventually it goes back to looking like the pic. I assume people are having the same problem. Did I dream that someone said there was a fix/design change to address this?

They need something a little more rigid there for sure.

I don't think mine has that problem. Are you sure the hose is properly stored?

I haven’t used the hose yet but I can already tell it will never fit back in that bag the same way it came originally. I plan on eventually getting one of these:

I bet it would allow your compartment to close all the way.

It's actually not to bad. I've used it dozens of times, and it goes back in every time. Just make sure you note exactly how the Velcro strap is used, and try to keep the 'bends' in the hose for reference when winding.

That’s good to know. I consider myself cord/ hose challenged so I am always on the lookout for aids?

I noticed the same thing in both sides. It’s a pretty cheap and flimsy latch. It works but looks like ass with the hatch halfway unsecured and flopping around.

I've had mine out once in the week I've had the truck. When putting it back in the cubby, it was like wrestling with an octopus at first! Then I put the little bag into the door pocket and then coiled the hose inside the bag. Once the hose was all in there, I zipped the bag shut and it hasn't seemed to poke the inside panel out yet.

I'm in this category. I have looped my hose and it just lives in the GT instead. It does sometimes slide around because of this.

If you submit a service ticket, they'll replace the whole thing... I had it done on the driver side within a month of ownership, and need to do it on the passenger side where the strap has ripped.

I put my hose in the frunk. I can’t get it to coil up as tight as original and my door bulged bad.

This is the way. I've used my compressor hose a dozen or more times, and my lid closes properly.

I have this contraption from s00nish. It works great. It gets the hose back into the bag without problem. The bag fits in the well and the lid can close without problem… but I am still also suffering the same issue as OP.

Mine was like this from the factory. Doesn't bother me that much though.
