That is about 18 months too late for them to remain relevant. No one who owns any of the NACS or NACS adapter vehicles (Ford, GM, Rivian, Polestar, Volvo, etc.) will still be using EA by 2025. The day your adapter arrives the EA membership will be cancelled. After a year of access to the Supercharger network, EA will be the forgotten network that never worked well and could not get its act together.

Dear Bob,

It appears you have a deeply rooted disdain for the EA network. I don't blame you as many on this forum and otherwise have experienced charging frustrations with 3rd party networks.

At the end of the day, we all should want EA to be relevant because it means that there is more competition. When commercial entities compete, the consumer wins.

If EA doesn't improve, the market will sort out winners and losers.

We have had no major issues with EA on multiple road-trips including driving back from the factory. We‘ve used EA in Indiana, Ohio, PA, Virginia, North and South Carolina.

The more chargers the better. Automakers are sharply ramping EV production. We want chargers to be as easy to find and use as gas stations.

We need Superchargers, we need RAN, we need EA and EVGo.

For the sake of argument lets ignore the charger, and focus just on the experience.

They're typically located in a parking lot of some chaotic store like a Walmart or a Fred Meyer.
There is always some annoyance with the port location unless you're a Rivian at a RAN or a Tesla at a Supercharger
There is typically no roof to block the sun or rain
There is no bathroom unless a store is open when your arrive
There is no food service for the location itself.
Typically the charger count is less than 20
There is little to no consideration for those towing unless its the one stall at a RAN station

I expect in 3-5 years that our charging experiences will be substantially better. Things like 51+ stall sites, restrooms, quick food, etc.

There is a good chance they'll be Tesla Chargers due to how they're scaling, but hopefully some competition will start to create mega sites.

While I agree with the sentiment, EA won't be forgotten. Unlike EVGo, Chargepoint, etc. EA exists because they have to exist per an agreement between VW and the US Gov to pay for the diesel cheat scandal. So even if no one goes there, pretty sure they need to remain.

Yes EA started as a diesel gate punishment but it's now an actual company that is trying to make a profit. It's not run by VW (even though VW does have investment in it).

it can’t and it won’t be only Tesla chargers. That’s a monopoly and not allowed in the US.
