Drive Cam Setup Fails with Three Different Drives

I've tried the following three drives, and setup fails each time.

Makes it past connecting and formatting, but then give an error after the speed test. Any ideas?

All of those should work fine. Are you using an adapter? Try without it, and then try a different cable.

Not using an adapter. Tried two different cables. No cable with the thumb drive.

Throw it onto a computer and format it EXFAT, then bring it back to the R1 and try again.

Definitely sounds like you should file a ticket. Did you try both ports?

Reformatting on a computer to EXFAT didn't work. Tried both ports. Called Rivian, but they didn't have any idea. They said they would do some research and get back to me.

Maybe try a soft reset (outer most buttons on the steering wheel for 15 seconds) then try again?

Months ago someone else in my area had to put in a service ticket (and I think visit the SC 3hrs away) because his truck's USB ports wouldn't recognize any drive was plugged in when trying to copy gear guard videos. His flash drive worked in my truck, my drive in his truck did not. I don't remember hearing what the resolution was, and I can't say if that was a similar issue since the format step seems to work, but who knows.

I think he posted here about it, if I can dig it up I'll come back and edit this.

Should have tried earlier, but I'm happy to report a soft reset seems to have fixed it.

Awesome! On a side note, I love the SanDisk portable extreme ssd. I use it for offloading photos and it's fantastic.

I'm stuck too. The UCB-C ports don't recognize a brand new freshly formatted SSD drive. I'm trying to get some footage for law enforcement. I had a vandalism incident. I'll try a data stick next. Help!
