App tray customization in action ….

I think the biggest thing I like about this is the swipe up gesture to open the additional app panel and the touch targets are larger when it opens. Easier to do without looking.

In my 10 days of ownership, the vehicle has uploaded 6.2GB back to RIVIAN! What on earth is it transmitting?!?!?
...
I'm more than happy to speculate. Rivian is building a massive Data Lake in AWS of sensor data and camera video from customer vehicles to use AI to train and test their ADAS/FSD development efforts.

Lest you think I'm living in AI fantasy land, consider that Telsa patented a method to do exactly this in 2020.

"Tesla has filed a patent on how to source training data from its large fleet of customer vehicles in order to train its self-driving neural network."

"Whereas most other companies utilize relatively small fleets of test vehicles to collect data and test their systems, Tesla uses its fleet of hundreds of thousands of customer cars equipped with an array of sensors to collect road and driving data as well as test its self-driving system in “shadow mode”.

I do not think most do that, my Tesla, Jeep GC, and Tahoe all required me to hit a recenter or the compass after scrolling around.

I have not seen one that does, how do they know when you are done scrolling?
My Tesla Model Y does re-center when navigating after some time. The R1S does not.

Selfishly I was hoping that the towing updates would come for summer camping season, but I am happy that updates are coming out consistently! Would like Apple Music too!

When is the software release being sent to R1S? I am still on 2023.22.00 and it’s not show that mine has a new update available

I have this issue and got an appointment setup for Monday. It just happened tonight and they got me an appt first thing Monday morning.

I can’t charge at home. I get the vehicle error on my app and red light around the charging port.

It’s a June 2023 build

I’m at the DCFC getting it to 100%

I believe my issue is a software bug.

The update coming will fix my issue plus lower temps in the coming months.

I was able to charge last night at 30 A and get a full charge.

I think the issue is during the middle of the day. The charging handle gets extremely hot and errors out.

In the middle of the night that’s not an issue, but it also helps to lower the amperage until the software fixes is out.

That’s why I’ve decided to cancel my appointment for Monday until the update is out.

For now I will just charge at 30 A in the middle of the day and 48 hours in the middle of the night at home.

Looks like I need this update. I cancelled my appointment for Monday and will charge at 6 kWh during the day and 11 kWh at night.

  • For AC charging, if the connector becomes too warm, the vehicle automatically lowers the power to safely continue charging, and a message appears on the driver and center displays.

I'm hoping this helps me avoid having to manually lower amperage each time I plug up at my campsite. Wiring was done in a way where the underground cable from the park's main panel slot for my spot trips *before* my spot's own 50A breaker trips. Running even at 30A charging heats everything up enough (even the park main slot breaker ? ) to trip it. I've been dropping it to 28A to avoid that.

FWIW, I have my home EVSE set to charge 9pm-5am and no schedule on the truck. Mainly playing with the two to see how I like the new EVSE scheduling. When plugging the truck up early I get the red ring and “Vehicle Error” but this corrects as soon as the EVSE comes on. The red light freaked me out a little since I have rarely had a charging issue in the first year, but I assume it’s due to the new “smart” EVSE being noncommunicative with the truck until it’s on schedule is triggered.

Same exact issue for me. Unfortunately scheduling through the car has been extremely unreliable, oftentimes not starting at all, so I continue to schedule through my charger (juicebox)
