Not really Rivian related but I came across this SST battery station on YouTube the other day. First of it's kind as far as I know.

https://yoshinopower.com/products/b4000-solid-state-portable-power-station

With 4kW output, 2.6kWh storage and 50lbs of weight it's impressive. If they had an accessory to combine two to get dual phase and some expansion batteries it could get real interesting.

Edit: This is the YouTube review of this product that I mentioned above:

Interesting but pretty damn pricey
At $1200/kWh it is about a 20% premium over competing products for a pretty substantial weight savings. The post is more about the technology and its actual availability, I was surprised this existed. Maybe these solid state batteries are closer to being used in a car then many say.

Definitely, would be nice, but if you think EVs cost a lot now... it's gonna be damn more expensive at those prices :D

Hopefully it really does hit mass market in the next few years and prices come inline

For $5K you could buy a used EV battery from a Tesla with 20x the kwh.

Ok. So I should buy one of these then add a charger and a beefy inverter and I’ll have a 1200 lbs portable battery. Seems practical.

High Power.
Low Weight.
Low Cost.
Pick any two.

Yeah because buying 2kwh of storage for $3k Is good value!? If you want house back up then yes buy a Tesla battery and power the whole house. If you need a couple of kWh then buy a couple RV marine batteries and call it good for a few hundred dollars not this monstrosity of a rip off!

It says solid state, lol. Fast Charging Capability– 80% in only 70 minutes. Let's all do the math shall we since solid state is supposed to charge an EV in 5min.

The whole market must be crazy then. You should start a business tearing down old Tesla batteries packaging them up with chargers, inverters, solar MPPTs and selling them to customers. Clearly no one else thought of this and customers love buying expensive monstrosities.

There is a market in between cheap heavy marine batteries that you can only use 50% of their capacity and 70kWh Tesla batteries. In fact it’s most of the RV industry.

Then again I am personally interested in the future proliferation of lighter solid state batteries, which is why I posted this here. Nowhere did I advocate anyone buy this so RELAX. In fact when someone commented on price above I stated that yes this appears to be 20% above competing products.

Well I don't believe these are solid state. Not when they are fast charging at 2kwh rate. So pardon me but I'm going to scream when something sounds like a scam. Really don't want someone to get taken.

What does charging speed have to do with solid state Batteries? I dont expect to charge my liquid lithium ion battery pack higher than 2 kw if plugged into a 110v outlet.

Pretty much everything. Nicad could survive that rate. Maybe someone here will buy one and take it apart to see what's inside. I'll bet cheap pouch batteries from China.
