Manual Tonneau Cover from Interrobang - my review

I bought my truck from the existing stock off the Rivian store so I had no choice for a manual tonneau cover. I know Rivian said they would post the manual tonneau covers for sale on their gear shop by late summer but I could not wait much longer since I do need secured truck bed storage.

I bought this really well built Interrobang (@Bf3) manual tonneau cover from www.interrobang.store for 1300.00 It is made of powder coated aluminium with five panels that weight 7.5lbs each for approximately 40lbs total weight. Panels fit into a Dakine snow board bag for storage into the gear tunnel. The panels are so strong I was able to stand on them and move around without even one creak. Highly recommend this option if security is your main concern for the truck bed. I sprayed the panels with a hose and I would say 5 drops of water came in no puddles. Operation of the panels are identical to the OEM manual panels. Fits in the existing truck bed OEM rails and has OEM look. I will be using this cover until they announce the power covers are avaliable for retrofit. A++ for this product and the owner Bill is really cool he answers all questions.

Thank you for this excellent review. I have one of these on order now, I was waiting with excitement for the Rivian OEM cover, until reports of the plastic bits breaking off started.

My temporary 1/2 plywood cover kinda sorta works but looks like c&$@.

Great idea. My manual one broke again, and I was being extra careful when trying to release it. It is just a horrible design with a tiny, thin plastic piece connection the cable to the release. If they would just replace the connection with a metal one, it would be fine.

I'm very happy with mine as well. Great for road trips and stashes easily in the gear tunnel when I am not using it.

I have now had my Interrobang cover for two weeks and love it too. Very well made and it looks great. Only minor issue i've found was that i could not remove any panels after the truck had been outside in 85 degree heat / full sunshine? Must be that these solid panels expand a bit in higher temperatures? No big deal, just have to p[lan better.

It has been 95 degrees outside my truck was parked outside for 4 hours and the panels pulled out pretty good and inserted pretty smooth. I know some trucks the rails are tighter tolerances. Ask Bill the creator he can probably tell you how to make them slide in and out with heat expansion.

Thanks for the review. I've got a Rivian manual cover (I paid $800 for) coming some time soon (I hope). I'm giving it one shot and if anything breaks under warranty or it turns up broken, I'm asking for a refund and I'll get one of these.

The front most panel (not the skinny one but the two slat one) was pretty hard to slide in after about half way and i have yet to pull it out with clamps and figure out how to make it smooth, but the other panels were super smooth and satisfying to lock in place.
This is the product I envisioned I would get as a manual tonneau cover from Rivian (well initially I envisioned pushing something manually into a hidden storage area like a rolltop desk but that’s obviously wishful thinking).

Rivian gave me no problem canceling my manual tonneau from them and I just used that $800 towards the $1300 for this. Money well spent!

Why can’t Rivian’s manual tonneau be even close to this good‽

I am surprised for 1800 Rivian's cover uses plastic panels. I like that the interrobang panels do not require some locking mechanism they all interlock and release with just a pull of the panel. Simple and nothing to break.

Ditto. Installed a manual OEM cover about a month ago. Tried to open for the first time since install, the left latch broke. Very flimsy thin plastic that will not last long term use. Called Rivian service who basically said he was not sure if it would be covered under warranty. Absolutely awful quality. I love the truck and the company but the tonneau seems to be their kryptonite.

I had the same issue with the second panel. Bill told me to stand it on concrete and pound it with.a hammer on both ends. I did it and it corrected the issue. Tim

Wow..really like this cover...my Rivian one is being delivered 9/12...fingers crossed and hope I get lucky and no defects when it gets here. But this cover looks just a good as the Rivian and now $450 cheaper - almost enough to get a set of cross bars...which I am still looking for.
