Do these change the speedometer reading on the 20’s? Not sure what the diameter is compared to stock.

If you're coming from stock 20" tires then I believe your speedo and camera calibration may be off by a bit. From 21" or 22" I think the difference from the 20" 275/60R20 was calculated to be ~3%? I don't have the numbers off the top of my head but there are a few threads in this subforums discussing it.

Yeah, would be coming off stock 20s. Looking for my next set of tires and hoping for an AS that won’t throw everything off, lol. Not looking likely…

The 21" and 22" tires are about 33" diameter. The stock 20" tires are about 34" diameter. The 275/60R20 tires are about 33". So, they work well for those coming from 21" or 22", but would be off for those coming from stock 20".

275/65R20 -> 275/60R20 = 3.2%, I suggest recalibration

275/55/21 or w/e 22s are -> 275/60R20 = .3%, negligible

I've had these on my R1T for about 2 weeks. Unsure what I am doing wrong as I am not getting anywhere close to those numbers. Additionally, I had my SC change the car from 20's with AT to the 21 inch with road wheels. Since that change, my speedometer is consistently 2-3mph faster than my actual speed. Also averaging 1.7 kwh/m in AP 70-75mph. In conserve my average is 2.3-2.5 70-75mph. On a positive note, the reduction in tire noise is greatly appreciated. Please share wisdom on how to improve efficiency. (2022, R1T, 20 inch rims with LTX ms2 (275/60/20).

Check out the Nokian One HT, stock size 275/65/R20 . There is thread here somewhere.

Just got the new defenders in 275/60R20 installed last night! It was pretty late so took only 1 picture. Will keep the thread updated about the efficiency numbers as I get more data. So far the impressions that the tire is slightly more noisy but much softer compared to stock 21s I had previously.

We had ours installed Thursday and switched from stock 22" tires+wheels to the 20" with these. So far I haven't noticed any significant difference in road noise or ride quality, but doing our usual run up and down 405 my very unscientific observation using the driver dash mi/kwh graph was that efficiency seemed better than the 22". We'll see how those numbers hold up in longer term use.

It's so tough in the Rivian forums to assess and/or agree on ride quality. Some people think it's great, others are mortified that it's not a Range Rover. Witness the previous post also went from 22 to these 20s and saw a much better/softer ride but you're not experiencing that, unfortunately.

I'm curious, was your primary objective to improve the ride quality? If so, beyond the 405, how they are on some rougher roads etc. I would have hoped that 20s would be much more forgiving, especially based on the reviews of these tires. But maybe the Rivian ride is what it is regardless of brand?

Ride quality wasn't something we had an issue with on the 22", so I guess when I say I didn't notice a difference it means moreso that we didn't notice any degredation in quality.

The reason I switched to the 20" wheels was mostly for tire selection and flexibility in case we did want to cycle over to winter or AT tires. We only had the 22" initially because we bought secondhand (~80 miles on it so pretty much new) and that is what was at auction when we were looking.

I haven't taken it onto anything rougher than I-5 yet, but the post a couple days ago about looping around the Olympic peninsula was inspirational enough that we might have to give an abridged version a shot.

Do a Hood Canal loop (you better stop at Potlatch Brewing!) and poke into some FS roads out there, it's pretty mild but also allows for adventuring if you desire. Washington Pass and the South Fork Skokomish River are my playgrounds.
