I obviously did turn mine off. I’m not disappointed they did a Halloween theme, I’m disappointed that they did it so off brand… especially when they nailed it last year.

Say what you want about whether they have an identity, but they sure put a lot of effort into the Sounds of Rivian page and videos (not to mention the actual sounds).
But then they also put alot of effort into making these things moutain goats but then go and put all season road tires on them too.

If it’s a “Halloween” mode, then the brand is Halloween, not Rivian. I didn’t have my truck yet, but I thought the owl, wolf were great and I also love the organ.

I stand there to watch my garage door go all the way down so I can hear it just before it closes. Makes me laugh every time. Yesterday at the grocery store it scared the hell out of a family loading groceries into their car next to mine as I was walking towards the store :CWL: (They started laughing afterwards.)

It’s just something fun Rivian did for Halloween. That’s it. Don’t overthink it.

This theme does in fact fit with the Rivian ethos. It's preliminary testing for the soon to be released Zombie Apocalypse Drive Mode.

The employees at the local Safeway and I had a good laugh after I surprised them with the pipe-organ opening sound. They were standing around an F150 just a few feet away shooting the shit, like people do when they are taking a break. I joined them for a few minutes before I went home. There was no talk of whether or not the sound was on/off brand, just how awesome and "rad" it was.

Wow! So much vitriol against OP and the like-minded!

I agree with OP that it doesn't fit the design standards they've established (and specifically, proudly advertised as their standard).

It boils down to it being a bit too obnoxious, and not disableable without disabling the full feature suite. That's it! I don't mind it in broad daylight in a store parking lot, but when I'm leaving in the early morning I can hear it through the walls of my house, which means my neighbors can too.

So many jerks in here, lol.

No, a lot of us are just sick of the entitled posters here who continue to post childish threads like the one you're now participating in. It's flat out embarrassing.

If I was Rivian, I'd just stop adding fun features like Halloween mode and tell everyone we're not going to do any Holidays because of the behavior of those entitled people like you and OP.

This is such a simple thing - if one doesn't like this year's Halloween mode, that is fair - so turn it off. Or go use one of the many other vehicles that has installed a Halloween mode that is more to your liking. Problem solved:like:

Wow it's quite remarkable how strong of a reply that is ?

You seem as entitled to not hearing a dissenting opinion as you claim we are to giving it.

Considering this is like the 20th thread....it's just old and sad. The simple solution is just don't turn it on, or as others said, go get another car with a Halloween mode you approve of.

I left it on for a couple days. Even more than just not caring for the organ sound, I couldn't hear it by the time I was far enough from the truck for it to lock...so I couldn't tell if it was actually locking. The bird chirp is high-pitched enough that it cuts through the environment better, so I turned it off again.
