I love Bosch, so for me it's a plus to have their motors in our Rivians.I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on my R1s and I prefer the quad motor for all the reasons. Will Rivian move away from the Quad over time then I’m stuck with legacy tech.
???I sure hope not. If they did that they would have to abandon their "stay adventurous" mantra and replace it with something like "stay typical". This would also require changing all of the Rivian shirts and jackets. You could then wear a sweat shirt with "stay typical" in large letters across the front.

Most likely 2024, if rumors that Rivian is dwindling down its Bosch inventory is correctWaiting for the in house Quad would mean waiting until 2025, if I had to guess. Will probably come with a the NACS port, new motors and potentially a new battery.
If you wait to purchase something because a new tech may come out in the future, you would buy nothing.
The rumors I have heard were 2025 will bring in house quad, new battery NACS and 800V. Slight exterior changes. Most likely 2024, if rumors that Rivian is dwindling down its Bosch inventory is correct
NACS plug in 2025 yes, but lots of changes for 2024 including 800v battery when they do the big upgrade shutdown in Q2 2024The rumors I have heard were 2025 will bring in house quad, new battery NACS and 800V. Slight exterior changes.
