That is by design. There's even aroma therapy additive you can add when you refill your washer fluid. The HVAC I take is next to the fluid sprayers

Yes, it does smell good!! The reason is the cabin filter is right there below the windshield...

I'm just waiting for the NHTSA to announce a recall for all vehicles using this same windshield washer fluid because it's more addictive than nicotine and reduces blood oxygen levels
